* Gulf of Mexico, offshore wells - Evaluating potential reservoir potential within a well's wellbore. Examining operator's requests for abandon, this include reviewing geology, well logs, and simulation (Merlin Reservoir Simulator)

A finite-difference-element reservoir simulator software program using MS Visual C++/MFC. This software features an easy to use GUI where the user may enter reservoir data into dialog boxes and well locations by clicking on aerial grid of a field. The program then solves for the reservoir's pressure distribution for the grid area as a function of elapsed production time. and features an animated wire-mesh visualization of the reservoir pressure surface. This model has been used in estimating pressure distributions in the Powder River Basin's coal bed methane development.
Reservoir pressure-calculating software using Excel with Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) embedded in it. This software permits a coal bed methane well's water production and well location to be easily copied and pasted into an Excel sheet (there over 10,000 of these wells in the Powder River Basin. The VBA code uses the line-source solution to the diffusivity equation combined with the law of superposition to create a quick estimate of the reservoir pressure for every township-range grid block within the 6,000 square miles in the Powder River Basin area of Wyoming.
Visual C++/MFC software application for calculating the "z-factor" for real gases. I created will calculate the "z-factor" in the equation given input values for gas gravity, pressure and temperature.
Excel/Visual Basic Application that sorts through a list of 100,000 gas wells and coal drill hole data. The tops and bottoms of each of the seams is determined by the algorithm and these values are fed into a geologic contouring program which draws a 3D picture of the coal seams. The USGS in Denver is using this software to create structural maps of the massive coal seams of the Powder River Basin.

33 graphical user interfaces (GUI), each of which uses embedded SQL commands. The GUIs were created using the Visual Basic computer language. This database contains information regarding federal oil and gas leases.

Exploring the uses of artificial neural networks in reservoir characterization.

financial 'cash flow' models for evaluating the economics of large natural gas fields in Wyoming. I created these using the Visual Basic for
Applications computer language embedded in Excel. I created a multiple linear regression program which calculates the coefficients for a linear equation which is used to calculate net present worth (NPV) of future natural gas wells (as a function of gas prices, drilling costs and estimated gas reserves).

Evaluated Pavillion and Muddy Ridge gas fields' reserves and 'cashflow'(Wyoming)

acre) for the Atlantic Rim CBM area, Wyoming.

Evaluate Unitization / plans of development in federal oil & gas units.
