Educational Qualification:
Masters Degree
Master of Technology (Chemical Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, West Bengal, India. I have joined the masters program in July 2006 as a sponsored candidate from DRDO.

1st Semester IIT, Kharagpur December 2006 8.67 8.67
2nd Semester IIT, Kharagpur May 2007 8.83 8.75
3rd Semester IIT, Kharagpur December 2007 9.0 8.84
M.Tech Project (2nd year)
Currently I am in final year working on a TISCO, Jamshedpur sponsored project titled 'Inert gas purging of liquid steel using CFD'. The project involves simulating of the ladle furnace and the mixing phenomenon of gas, liquid steel and alloying elements occurring inside the ladle by purging argon gas. The scope of work has been divided into modeling, testing, integration and implementation at TATA steel. The modeling work is divided into 5 modules, which will be modeled in sequence. They are steady state liquid phase model, unsteady state liquid phase model, unsteady turbulence liquid phase model, unsteady state multiphase gas-liquid turbulence model and final model will consists of species transport equation integrated with unsteady state multiphase gas-liquid turbulence model.
Currently, four models i.e. steady and unsteady state liquid phase laminar model, unsteady liquid phase turbulent model and unsteady liquid phase turbulent model with species transport has been developed using finite volume method and fully implicit SIMPLER algorithm. The code is developed on a Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 platform. Line by line TDMA solvers has been coded for solving pressure, pressure correction, radial and axial directional velocity equations. The developed code is able to predict pressure and velocity fields for liquid phase.
Apart from the above, regular plant visits, interaction with TATA steel officials, presentations are added activities attached to the project.

B.E Project
The title of the project is 'Color removal from aqueous solution by Adsorption' (Aug 1999 – June 2000). The work involved the study of different parameters like time, temperature, pH, amount of adsorbent, amount of adsorbate etc affecting the adsorption of dyes especially from the hazardous dye industry effluents by naturally occurring adsorbents like rice bran, saw dust and bagasse. Desorption study by different solvents for reuse of the adsorbent was also carried out.
