Characterization of Mid-Createceous clastic reservoirs of Safaniya Field, Eastern Saudi Arabia

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Interpret and integrate geological data with geophysical, petrophysical and engineering data for detecting reservoir geometry of multilayer clastic reservoirs of Safaniya Field and identify its development targets.
* Prepare geological forecasts and structural prediction through seismic, logs, geological maps and core data for ARAMCO's 'Well Approval Package' of 7 vertical, 4 slanted, 35 horizontal and 4 multilateral development wells.
* Work in conjuction with Reservoir Engineers to identify optimum offshore platform wells and workover candidates to develop field and recommend well placemen to Drilling Engineers.
* Conceive and implement specialist studies like AVA as required while planning and drilling of wells.
* Use MWD, LWD and special logs to guide Geosteering Centre and wellsite geologist in implementing well promramme of 3-4 offshore rigs. Interact with reservoir geologist and engineer in real-time if well plan needs to be significantly altered. Perform realtime formation evaluation, stratigraphic interpretation and quicklook quantitative petrophysical analysis of 40 horizontal wells.
* Actively participate in selecting pressure measurement points and interpreter measurements.
* Evaluate strengths and weaknesses of different packages. Use tools like At-Bit Gamma, Imagelog, Periscope/ADR, Telescope, Ecoscope, Stethoscope/GeoTap in fit-for-purpose fashion for reservoir characterization. Technology review of new logging tools.
* QC stratigraphic tops in database. Update maps, cross-sections and revisit correlation.
* Liaison with Reservoir Assesment Division to upgrade reserves based on well data.
* Daily presentation using Power Point slides to senior management regarding current operational activities and post drilling analysis of all rigs (5 Batch Drilling + 3 Workover Drilling) operating in Safaniya Field. Highlight field review in weekly communication meeting as and when required.
* Use OpenWorks, Well Planner, StratWorks, Z- Map+ and GOCAD
* Improve skills of others via mentoring.
