Drilling Engineer.

Oil and gas well site engineer in operations in Drilling, Completion, Work over, Testing in offshore/onshore Niger Delta and Gulf of Guinea in Africa
Principle Accountabilities:
*Responsible for the engineering design and planning of wells {including development work} designing directional well paths as appropriate where drilling is to take place horizontal or multilaterally.
* Planning and writing detailed drilling, work over and completion programs.
*Surveillance of day-to-day drilling, work over or completion progress to ensure same is conducted to the best technology and propose program.
Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
* Responsible for pre job safety meeting and ensure all contractors conform to the safety and fire rules to be employed in drilling oparations.
* Enforcing a strict rule of wearing PPE.
* Following all safety, fire, health and environmental policies of the company. *Ensuring adherence to environmental protection standards.
* Co-ordinate activities on the rig floor affecting HSE matters.
* Ensuring all non-routine hazardous work is performed under the permit to work (PTW) system.
* Ensuring all near miss incidents and incidents resulting in injury or damage to assets, equipment or the environment are reported and that assigned incidents and near miss events are investigated, reported and documented.

Personnel
* Promoting an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect amongst all personnel onboard the work unit or at the drilling site.
* Providing active support to Well-site Drillers and junior engineer in their development efforts, in particular in preparation for their professional certification examinations.
* Training new Junior Drilling Engineers in their prime roles and responsibilities, in particular logistics management, filing and reporting. Participates in staff appraisal exercises.
Reporting of daily operations
* Reporting directly to the Well Delivery Team but functionally reports to the Senior Drilling Engineer and Drilling Manager on all matters pertaining to the conduct of operations at the Well-site in accordance with the requirements of the Well Engineering Manual.
* Inputting and verifies the accuracy of Well Information System (WIS) daily drilling reports and send same daily to office base.
* Responsible for processing end of well reports, as per Well Engineering Manual standards, for selected wells.
Contract management
* Responsible for the implementation of all relevant contracts and their variations.
* Responsible for the monitoring and reporting of contractor service quality.
* Informing contract holders of all service provision deficiencies and contractor non-compliance.
Personal Development
* Maintaining an active interest in and familiarizes with operations.
* Performs small office based projects in well engineering subjects during time off.
Management of costs
* Preparing well cost estimate base on contractors tender and billing process
* Responsible for the daily expenditure and reporting using cost reporting facility.
* Calculating the cost of services execution based on the job execution record and contract rates.
* Carried out evaluation of equipment rental time and personnel on board by the timely and efficient transfer of materials and personnel to and from the rig.
* Responsible for call out of equipment and personnel.
Close out, reporting and performance monitoring
* Providing data, assists in the preparation of, and conducts well review presentations.
* Ensuring well file is kept up to date.
* Provide recommendations for improvement of the WIS and cost reporting system, the accounts guide/coding system and drilling rig/drilling service contracts.
* Assisting in longer term operational decision making, performs cost benefit analysis on all programmed operational steps to ensure cost efficient operation, and suggests alternative procedures when appropriate cost benefits are perceived.
