EXPLORATION-OPERATIONS GEOLOGY MANAGER 1996 - 1997
Assigned responsibility to coordinate with BG-TVP the exploration G&G work and drilling operations of offshore Rosetta project, Mediterranean Sea, Egypt resulting in a major gas discovery. Participated in the early preparation stages of West Delta Deep Marine project. Responsible for liaison operations, administering and QA of the first Alliance contract in North Africa and Middle East, led to efficient and smooth operations
* Participated in the G&G studies, integrated 3D seismic data, AVO seismic anomalies and bright spots; led to discover attractive gas plays and reservoirs
* Evaluated regional pressure regime, shallow gas, site surveys and other deep offshore operations' hazards; prepared and implemented plans to tackle each of these goals
* Maintained excellent communications and liaison with BG-TVP multidisciplinary team in UK, as well as the Alliance partners to have such plans in place working and running; assured QC standards and operations flow
* As a team-player, participated positively in a 20-member Alliance Operation Committee, reported to steering committee; maintained outstanding performance in communication and coordination; demonstrated superior problem solving skills
DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT HEAD 1993 - 1996
- Appointed by BG to join its Joint Venture Company, participated in developing offshore oil field, Gulf of Suez, Egypt
* Participated in G&G studies and development plans of Warda field, which started production on schedule and on budget
* Performed reservoir characterization, correlation, subsurface mapping, integrated seismic, cores, test, and biostrat data
* Liaison with BG Houston team, coordinated the operations of 2 development phases: 10 directional-horizontal wells
* Responsible for services' tendering, assured the compliance of the first TURNKEY contract in N. Africa (included LWD, wireline and mud logging services) with the Joint Venture bylaws and BG specifications and QC standards
* Managed a team of eight professionals, demonstrated unique problem solving skills
- Assigned the leadership of Balah asset-team to evaluate this deep offshore prospect. Conducted comprehensive G&G and reservoir studies and mapping, defined petroleum system, selected well location, calculated reserves, prepared drilling program, tendered for exploration services, and provided full operational support

* Handled major operations decisions, liaison with GM and Paris headquarters. Communicated with partners, JVs and Government for decisions' approvals, such as well testing, deepening, logging, AFE's…etc
* Negotiated and granted the government approval of more than US2M$ pending expenditures as cost-recoverable
* Approved invoices and cost control that saved more than US750, 000$, responded to auditors and insurers' claims
* Presented TOTAL's strategy and position in TCM/OCM meetings, participated in all management meetings
* Planned and acquired 500km of 2D onshore seismic campaign; drilled several deep wells that both were significant multi-layered gas discoveries in Nile Delta, implemented depth-migration-before-stack techniques
* Prepared a portfolio of farm-out proposals, led to farming-out significant acreage
DEPUTY EXPLORATION MANAGER 1988 - 1990
* Managed a team of 15 professionals and technicians; provided sound recommendations to management
* Responsible for US350M$ development projects of two major oil and gas fields (Amal and Gamma), Gulf of Suez-Egypt, which included offshore and onshore facilities and turned on production within budget and time frame
* Drilled 12 offshore wells (including horizontal wells) with 90% success rate and acquired 2D offshore seismic survey
* Performed full bidding process, sought approvals, negotiated, awarded and administered exploration contracts
* Demonstrated solid problem solving skills, operationally and in dealing with the Government and its authorities

SUBSURFACE OPS DEPARTMENT HEAD 1986 - 1988
* Responsible for planning, QC and supervising all the geological operations of 18 off-and-onshore exploratory and appraisal wells, peaked at four offshore drilling units, five geographic bases at one time, with a success rate of 80%
* Evaluated reservoirs, calculated reserves in ten blocks, budgeted and planed horizontal wells in fractured basement
* Prioritized duties and tasks with outstanding ability. Led a team of ten professionals and technicians
* Offered valuable participation in the daily operations' meetings and in the decision-making process
GEOLOGIST 1980 - 1986
* Participated with blocks' teams, studied 20 exploratory blocks in Egypt, evaluated logs, reservoirs, formation pressure regimes, calculated reserves, integrated seismic, core data, correlation, and generated drillable prospects
* Planned and executed drilling programs of 25 tough-to-operate offshore wells, 70% of them were successful
* Discovered significant oil-condensate-gas fields of over 600MMBOE: Amal, S-Ramadan, 6H, WFR, Darag, Tawila, Tineh, PFM, and Mango in Gulf of Suez, Red Sea, Nile Delta and Mediterranean - Egypt
* Demonstrated excellent computer skills using in-house software packages, complied well prognosis and final reports
* Assigned well sitting duties; supervised and interpreted of mud logs, well logs, RFT, test, cores, SWC, and MWD/LWD data of 35 offshore wells, illustrated outstanding performance. Participated in geological field trips
