WORK HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE
November 2005- Present: Chevron Kenya Limited.
Position held: Area Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Training Specialist for East and West Africa based in Nairobi.
Reporting to the Manager Training Program for Africa, Europe & Pakistan, the role covers 300 employees and contractors in 7 countries in East and West Africa.
Key Responsibilities
ć Identification of training needs for leaders, supervisors and other employees
ć Design, development and delivery of oil Terminal operations and contractor training.
ć Deploy Logistics operational training to ensure workforce operations are executed as designed - safely, reliably and efficiently.
ć Generate Training Needed and Training Completed reports for the areas/terminals for the focus areas of Operator, Driver, terminal and Area Manager Training review and reconciliation with business plan
ć Documentation and assessment of training effectiveness
ć Role model and Steward Loss Prevention System (LPS) processes in East Africa & Egypt Logistics operations.
ć Foster and cultivate a safety culture in East and West Africa oil terminals that leads to and sustains world-class incident-free operations.
ć Update and maintenance of Logistics employee data in learning management System database
ć Work alongside OE-HES specialists in coordination and delivery of training activities to employees and contractors.
June 1999 to 2005: Caltex Oil (Kenya) Limited, Mombasa Terminal.
Position held: Terminal Operations Superintendent.
Mombasa Terminal has a tankage capacity of approximately 400,000 barrels of a range of petroleum products in 12 tanks. The terminal receives products from marine vessels and by pipeline from the refinery. Product is loaded into trucks and wagons for customers.
Responsibilities and significant deliverables:
Monitoring and overseeing the Terminal Operations. Duties included:
ć Conducting Job Safety Hazard Analysis (JSA) for routine and none routine /new jobs.
ć Participated in the development and writing of operations procedures for ISO-9000 accreditation at Mombasa Terminal.
ć Preparing detailed pre-commissioning, commissioning and operations procedures
ć Decommissioning and commissioning of equipment and pipeline systems.
ć Ensuring all commissioning check sheets and reports are completed, as required and incorporated with the hand over package.
ć Preparing plant startup, operations, emergency operations and shutdown procedures.
ć Preparing management of Change (MOC) for newly installed equipment or processes.
ć Proposing modifications in design factors for safe and reliable operation of the plant.
ć Coordinating the Safety, Health and Environment committee activity and Safe Work Permit signatory.
ć Labeling and completing of documents for proper disposal of hazardous waste and materials.
ć Participation in TOE (Terminal Operational Excellence) audits.
ć Conducting fire and safety equipment inspections of the Terminal facility.
ć Conduct Operations and HES training to operations staff.
ć Conduct new hire and contractors safety orientations to the facility and operations.
ć Development and review of emergency response procedures for the Terminal.
ć Training of contractor drivers in East Africa and employees in Road Transport Safety.
ć Bulk stock product control, monitoring and investigations to minimize loss/gain discrepancies.
ć Development and implementation of corrective action and incident tracking system for safety performance measurement.
ć Responsible for the implementation of Loss Control programs (LPS) incorporating operations, safety, health, environmental and security.

Position Held: Refinery Operator/Technician.
Responsibilities and significant deliverables:
ć Maintenance activities including generation, verification, validation, and implementation of all maintenance programs and procedures necessary for startup, operations, and closure of the refinery unit facilities
ƒá Inspections of fixed rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, Induced Draft Fans, etc¡K).
ć Provided oversight on all refinery unit equipment, systems, and operations as required.
ć Supported maintenance personnel in developing policies, plans, and procedures required to efficiently and safely operate refinery units
ć Assured completeness for overall plant maintenance activities
ć Support and assist in the planning of operations and maintenance activities
ć Participated in reviews during the development of the commissioning programs, with special concentration on maintenance activities.
ć Participated in the scheduling of maintenance activities in line with plant operations schedules.
