I have been working as environmental engineer with Environment Management Department (EMD) of Al-Khafji Joint Operations (KJO). KJO is an oil company involved in offshore oil exploration and drilling operations in the divided (ex-neutral) zone between Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and State of Kuwait and is jointly operated by Aramco Gulf Operations Company (AGOC) and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC).
Responsibilities:
* Conducting environmental audits, inspections and monitoring
* Conducting evaluation of environmental compliance
* Advising and solving emerging environmental issues related to oil and gas upstream operations
* Implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
* Coordination with Certification Auditors for maintaining ISO 14001 Certification
* Developing, revising / updating environmental regulations / standards and oil spill contingency plan
* Preparing environmental procedures, plans, and programs
* Investigating and developing environmental incident reports
* Ensuring proper execution of Environmental Management Plans for contractors

King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Worked as environmental engineer in a joint R&D program between King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) of Saudi Arabia and the Petroleum Energy Center (PEC) of Japan. The project activities related to the use of micro-filtration (MF), Nano-filtration (NF), and Reverse Osmosis (RO) for domestic wastewater treatment, and its suitability for various reuse applications. Responsibilities and achievements are listed below:

* Evaluation of membrane technologies for wastewater treatment and reuse
* Pilot research plants operation.
* Experimental data analysis.
* Writing of technical reports including monthly, six monthly, and activity reports. Wrote three Yearly Reports and Six Half Yearly Reports in addition to the routine monthly progress reports.
Achievements:
* Successfully implemented the construction, installation, and commissioning of a patented membrane bioreactor (MBR) activated sludge pilot plant at KACST.
* Designed a locally modified version of membrane bioreactor (MBR) activated sludge pilot plant. Successfully implemented its fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning through a local company under full supervision.
* Carried out detailed evaluation studies for Aerated Lagoon type of municipal wastewater treatment plant at Al-Khafji, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
* Carried out a preliminary design of municipal wastewater treatment facilities and the related sewer system in Al-Qasim region, in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the purpose of comparison of the different available alternatives.
