Senior Production Technologist

- Key member providing the interface between the Petroleum Engineering and Production Department. This coordinating position was key to increasing daily production rates the past 5 years from 35,000 bopd to currently 115,000 bopd contributing significantly to Addax' impressive growth.
- Lead a team of Petroleum and Production Engineers to identify, assess and solve production anomalies by monitoring and evaluating well, reservoir, field and production facilities performance in all onshore and offshore assets.
- Built and manage the Integrated Production Model (IPM) for all onshore and offshore assets using GAP and Prosper. This model played a significant role in identifying bottlenecks and optimizing production in the largest asset, a complex offshore operation consisting of four production platforms, six wellhead platforms, over ninety wells and an FPSO.
- Notable achievement was efficiently producing a prolific satellite field through a restricted 10" pipeline. By effectively producing the high GOR wells and the use of flow improvement chemicals (drag reducer), production through the line increased by 15% – 20%.
- During the first part of this assignment, I was also responsible for horizontal well completion, gaslift proposals, well cleanup programs and workover proposals. This further evolved into becoming responsible for optimizing all on- and offshore well activity to ensure wells are produced under optimum conditions with most wells horizontally completed open hole in thin oil reservoirs.
- Capable communicator maintaining internal and external communications with a broad variety of disciplines, management, third party operators and government bodies.

9/2000 – 9/2002 VEBA OIL LIBYA in Tripoli, Libya
Production Manager

- Advise and support the General Manager in all technical matters related to the operation of the joint venture operating company (Veba Oil Operations) and other activities carried out by Veba Oil Libya GmbH (VOL) and Veba Oil Exploration Libya GmbH (VOEL). Total daily production levels 95,000 bopd.
- Oversaw technical work programs to ensure they were carried out in a cost effective manner within the approved annual budgets. I was also technically responsible for a supplementary budget of over US$150 million to invest in 'Accelerated Production Projects' in order to boost production to 120,000 bopd. Held technical authority for reporting requirements as set out by Head Office.
- Held technical authority during Operation Committee Meetings with partners and providing operations input to new developments at feasibility/conceptual stages.
- Responsible for annual reserves, planning and budget cycles
- Project team member in acquiring new exploration acreage under revised contract conditions (EPSA). This contributed to making VOLB one of the largest acreage holders in Libya.

Senior Production Engineer

- Supervision over the daily production operations for 5 offshore North Sea fields totaling 35,000 bopd. These subsea tie-ins to a Floating Production Facility were further expanded in 1999 with the tie-in of third party fields. Involved in periodic risk assessments on an aging subsea infra structure to ensure sound production integrity at all times. Routine tasks include well optimization (gas lift), well testing, scale and corrosion monitoring and forecasting.
- Scale deposition control in the subsea pipelines was a major challenge.
- Key subsurface asset team member as the main interface with topsides, reservoir, drilling, completion and geoscience personnel to promote application and implementation of best practices to enhance production.
- Supervision of Technical Assistants to ensure accurate input into company database and precise reporting to partners.

3/1996 – 12/1997 DEMINEX OIL & GAS UK Ltd. in London, UK
Senior Petroleum Engineer

- Key Welltesting Team member for HPHT wells in the North Sea and West of Shetland wells (Electrical Submersible Pumps). The latter well was extremely challenging in this new area due to rough seas and complete lack of infrastructure.

- Design philosophy for natural flow and artificial lift systems. Well and Field flow performance modeling utilizing integrated technical software systems.
