Worked as an under trainee officer in the Naval Construction Wing (NCW) of Indian Navy from December 2002 to April 2006.

Currently employed in Specialist Services, Dubai as an Estimation Engineer in the Quantity Survey-Commercial Department since May 2007.

Naval Construction Wing of Indian Navy is the forerunner of Marine Related Research and Development in India.

Specialist Services is an ISO Certified Organization working in the Oil / Marine sector fabrication for more than 25 years. Turn over of company is approx. US$ 100M (2006– 07).

Employment Records

1. NCW – Indian Navy (Dec 2002 – April 2006)

- Undergone Basic Naval Orientation Course from Naval Academy, Goa, India (Dec 2002).
Course includes Detailed Study of Various class of Warships, Naval Organization, Naval Aircrafts and Choppers, Anchor Handling & Mooring Systems.

- Completed Orientation Course from Naval College of Engineering, Pune, India (Jan – May 2003).
Course includes detailed study of Military Ship Machinery System, Ergonomic Design of Naval Weaponry Systems due to space constraints, Well versed with Military Navigational Systems and Communication systems on Bridge and OPS Room, Training in Engine Room and Electrical Room Systems. - Have Sailing Experience on Indian Navy Ship INS Mysore-Destroyer Class (June 2003)
Training included, working experience on Navigational Systems on Bridge, Preparation of Charts for Sailing off and Course fixing. Working Experience in Communication Systems such as Semaphore and Morse Code.

- Have completed Centre For Leadership & Behavioral Studies Course From Southern Naval Command, Kochi, India (July 2002)

- Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY), Kochi, India (May-June 2004 and May-June 2005)
At NSRY, the training included reading and understanding Shipbuilding Drawings. Preparation of Shop Drawings from Basic Shipbuilding Drawings. Reading Technical Manuals and Data Book. Training in Activites of each and every shop of the yard. Supervision of Overall Ship Production Activities in the yard.

- Have comprehensive survey experience with every class of defence vessel in the Indian Navy such as Aircraft carrier, Destroyers, Stealth Frigates, Corvettes, LST, Attack crafts, Minesweepers, Patrol Boats, Coast Guard Vessels, and Submarines.

- Indian Register Of Shipping (Associate Member of IACS) (May-June 2006)
Training was at the Plan Approval Department, at headquarters of IRS in Mumbai. Works Undertaken were Scantling checks for various vessels, checking of Stability booklets, calculation of tonnage, checking of welding plan and weld procedure, checking of tank testing plans. Checking of loading procedure & Ballast procedure. Familiarization of Rules of IRS and comparing with that of rules of other societies such as LRS, DNV, ABS, BV, GL.

- Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (October 2006)
Towing tank experiment and Cavitation tunnel experiments were conducted. The basic information about setting up of Towing tank facility for different manoeuvring tests and for taking the readings for interpreting the result was given through classes and while carrying the experiment with a model of a catamaran. Cavitation tunnel experiment for a propeller for finding its open water characteristics was carried out. An idea on wind tunnel experiments and Computational Fluid Dynamics were given through interesting seminars by eminent scientists from the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory.

2. Specialist Services, Dubai (May 2007 – till date)

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Cost and material estimation
- Direct interaction and handling of a wide range of global clientele primarily from the US, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia.
- Preliminary design prior to detailed engineering
- Studying and Preparing technical and commercial contract documents.

My current position has given me exhaustive exposure to a multitude of engineering disciplines to achieve proficiency in reading and interpretation of all engineering drawings specifically structural, architectural, electrical, HVAC and P&I drawings.

Projects Handled

Preliminary design, Cost and material estimation of:
- Control Cabin for Well Enhancer (Well Intervention Vessel) for Well OPS, UK as per DNV Rules for Classification of Ships & MODU Code.
- 36 men living quarters with Helideck as per DNV 2.7-1& SOLAS Regulations for Saag Drilling & Well Services Sdn, Malaysia)
- A60 Zone I/II Measurement while drilling Units (MWD), Land logging Units, A60 Zone I/II Mudlogging Units for such offshore companies as Schlumberger IPC, Schlumberger D&M, Schlumberger LOGELCO, Schlumberger GS, Schlumberger WTS, Saudi Aramco, Baker Hughes Inteq, Halliburton, Weatherford, International Logging Services, Geoservices, Global Geophysical as per DNV 2.7-1 and/or DNV 2.7-2 SOLAS regulations.
- Drillers Cabin/Dog House for National Oilwell Varco and Weatherford.
- 1440 psi 3 Phase Well Test Separators for Weatherford Middle East and Al Mansoori production Services.
- Onshore oilfield skid mounted/trailer mounted Oilfield accommodation camps for Western Geco, Global Geophysical, and PGS Onshore.
- Other various well head buildings such as Welding Workshops, Tool houses, Offshore Baskets, Compressor Skids, IT Units, Generator Enclosures for Kranz Compressors, Schlumberger IPC, BJ Process and Pipeline services, Weir Engineering services etc.
- Wireline and cable laying Units for Sclumberger REW and Schlumberger IPC.
- Telecom Shelters for Motorola, Nokia, Siemens, Etisalat, Du etc
- Switchgear enclosures and Power Skids for ADCO.
