Ensure emergency drills are conducted in line with HSE Plan.

Monitor access control measures and improve on them.
Monitor Journey Management and improve on them.
Encourage safety innovations among the contractors and participate in site safety presentations and awards.
Ensure contractors plant and equipment are efficiently and safely used, whilst confirming required availability and monitoring demobilizations.
Make sure that construction plant equipment certification is current and inspection and maintenance is carried out in the prescribed manner and that contractors' records are available at site.
Establish emergency procedures and evacuation plans and ensure all personnel are aware of the procedures, plans and emergency assembly points.
Immediately stop any unsafe work practices, which are likely to cause accidents or are injurious to health.
Advise the Craft Superintendents and Craft Supervisors on matters relating to HSES and participate in 'tool box' talks with the site labour.
Attend Contractors HSES toolbox talks and safety meeting. Encourage Contractors safety incentives and Contractor team building.
Ensure all notification, safety signs and barriers advising power on/live systems are provided by the contractors and in place. Ensure contractors carryout tool box talks on electrical safety and Permit to Work requirements.
Ensure all required site PPE is available in good condition and in sufficient quantities for the labour force, and is compliant with the applicable standards and specifications.
Facilitates the periodic review of the HSE status of the site from time to time.
Ensure implementation of contractor Environmental and Health Management Plan is in line with Shell Nigeria Environmental and Health Management Plan (EHMP).
Implement Shell Nigeria Audit Plan on site and also close out issues arising from the Audits.
Enforce the tracking of Unsafe acts/unsafe conditions generated on site and ensure close out.
Investigations of any site incident, near miss, accident and close out of any live hazards.
Conducting Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) on the critical aspect(s) of project(s).
Ensure that NDT is performed in a safe and effective manner in accordance with SHELL NIGERIA and National standards.
