I have twenty-five years experience of working overseas as a Water Treatment Specialist and Account Manager on all types of industrial plants, including refining, gas processing, petrochemicals and metal industries. I have extensive experience in contract negotiations, presentations and review meetings with all levels of management. Throughout this time I have been responsible for designing chemical treatment programmes, supervising their implementation and monitoring results through chemical analysis, corrosion coupons and corrator probes. Stock management and safe handling of water and process treatment chemicals and reagents have been integral parts of the job. I have also been responsible for designing and presenting numerous training programmes on chemical treatment and analysis techniques to all levels of plant personnel. Career Objective. I am seeking a position that will utilise my experience. The job could be involved with problem solving and monitoring/logging data from existing systems, new plant start-ups or audits of systems. It may also involve the design and presentation of training programmes covering water treatment technology, chemical handling and the application and monitoring of chemical programmes. Work Experience. 2007 – present Water Treatment Specialist (independent). 'Alcoa' (aluminium re-melt facility) Samara, Russia. As team leader, I carried out an audit of the three cooling water systems and presented a report including recommendations for upgrading existing equipment and chemical programmes. (Value $4.8M) The objective is to improve overall plant performance and product quality, and to move towards the implementation of the Alcoa 'Zero Liquids Discharge (ZLD)' policy. Project is on-going. 2005-2007 Water Treatment Specialist (independent). Tengizchevroil-Second Generation Project, Kazakhstan. I provided technical support and water analysis expertise during the commissioning of the Potable Water and Industrial Water Treatment Plants, (Comprising coagulation, flocculation, filtration, reverse osmosis, base exchange softening and electro deionisation), Waste Water Treatment Plant, Heat Recover Steam Generators (HRSG) Boilers and Closed Loop Cooling Systems. This included designing and installing an Excel based system for the long term monitoring and analysis of the operator's test results. I also set up a training programme for the unit operators, based on relevant technology, analysis techniques, trend spotting and corrective action decision making. Annual chemical sales to this plant will be $450K once they have reached full production. Service contract is valued at $402K/annum 2004-2005 Water Treatment Specialist (independent). Tengizchevroil-Base Plant, Kazakhstan. Over a period of eight months, I carried out an in depth audit of the Utility Steam Boiler Plant, Trace Heating Boiler System, Condensate Systems, Boiler Feed Water Systems and the Water Treatment Plant. (Comprising filtration, base exchange softening and reverse osmosis). My final report included recommendations for various mechanical changes and treatment programme modifications. Annual chemical sales to this plant are $1.5M. Service contract is valued at $400K/annum. 2002-2004 Key Account Manager. Nalco Saudi Co Ltd, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. I had responsibility for the water treatment programmes applied in the southern Aramco gas plants, comprising Shedgum, Uthmaniya, Abqaiq, Hawiyah and Harad. Combined annual sales value $1.8M. In addition, my role was to provide support, training and problem solving capabilities to the Nalco application engineers responsible for the routine monitoring of the boiler and cooling water systems. I was also responsible for liaising with Aramco management, with respect to chemical supply logistics, water related problem solving and the design and implementation of their operator training programmes. 1991-2002 Area Manager. Nalco Gulf Ltd, Jebel Ali, U.A.E. I was responsible for sales and technical support to all Nalco clients in a district comprising Bahrain, Kuwait and the Lahore region of Pakistan. During this period I introduced Nalco chemical programmes to the boiler plants and cooling systems of Mina Al Ahmadi, Mina Abdulla and Mina Shuaiba refineries in Kuwait. Average annual chemical sales per refinery $300K. In addition, I designed and sold the chemical programmes and supervised their implementation to the boiler and cooling systems on the Equate Project. Annual value of chemical sales was $230K. (This is a Union Carbide-Kuwaiti joint venture ethylene plant). As part of the management of the area, I trained and supervised a team of four Application Engineers assigned by Nalco to carry out routine service calls on all of these sites. In Pakistan, I carried out a series of polymer evaluation trials on the paper machines and Waste Water Treatment plant of 'Packages Paper Mill'. After completion of the trials, I was responsible for setting up the routine application of the Nalco programmes. I then trained and supervised two Nalco Application Engineers to enable them to carry out the scheduled servicing of these applications. In Bahrain, I introduced programmes comprising polymer technology for the removal of casting oil (utilising Induced Air Flotation) and specialist corrosion inhibitors and biocides to the cooling systems of Aluminium Bahrain (ALBA) and the Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill (GARMCO). Total annual value of sales to these two plants was around $450K. 1981-1991 Water Treatment Consultant. Nalco Saudi Co Ltd, Dammam, Saudi Arabia. I moved to Jubail early in 1981 during the first construction phase of the Industrial City. My initial responsibilities were to provide technical support and water analysis capabilities to Hadeed Steel and Saudi Petrochemicals (Sadaf), then still under construction. Over the next three years I was responsible for supervising the initial cleaning of the water related systems and chemical programme start-up. Thereafter, I provided technical support for all of the Nalco water treatment programmes in operation in the boiler plants (low and high pressure) and the cooling systems for the following plants: Name Products Produced.
