Responsible for designing, engineering, manufacturing and remanufacturing of specialized processing equipment, systems, and entire processing facilities for the food industry. This is done by creating assembly drawings, including bills of materials (BOM) and detail drawings for various machinery and process plants using AutoCAD.

Senior Applications Engineer (1995-2003)
Responsible for developing real-time dynamic Operator Training Simulators of petrochemical and chemical processes using DEC VAX/Alpha and/or NT based systems. Duties included using PRO/II to provide a steady state material and energy balance of the process, regressing thermodynamic physical properties, and designing and commissioning dynamic simulation applications.
Dynamic simulator models are designed to be within 2-5% of plant steady-state. The simulator prepares operators to handle the full range of operation from startup, through normal operation, and on to normal shutdown or emergency shutdown using the same procedures and equipment faced in the plant control room. Operator Training Simulators provides an environment to reduce costs associated with operator error and to build operator confidence in handling adverse situations when operating the real process. Modified displays and updated database related to simulation on numerous DCS's, including TDC3000, Foxboro IA, ABB MOD 300, and Yokogawa Centum. Depending upon the project worked on (all OTS in Saudi Arabia), benefits exceeded $1MM plus/year.
Other project included lead project engineer for the design, configuration, testing, commissioning, training and documentation of ASMS (Abnormal Situation Management System) for Gas-Lift Wells. Operators were provided advisory messages and alarm management of process analysis performed by Expert rules. Benefits from ASMS were increased equipment utilization and reduced production losses. It saved $5MM in six months.

Responsible for implementation of Simcon's Process Control Application Package (PCAP™) data base on VAX systems. This package is similar in structure to DCS blocks but with emphasis in capabilities of developing new blocks using FORTRAN to match client applications.
PCAP™ maintenance and support responsibilities including creating and maintaining Software Problem Report system, maintaining and upgrading of training manuals, organizing and conducting PCAP™ training for clients, review product upgrades, and day-to-day maintenance on projects. Adviser to others in functionality of handlers as related to the PCAP™ data base. Wrote PCAP™ User's Guide for use as a source of reference to assist field engineers, clients and other technical personnel. Prepared PCAP™ data bases including FORTRAN interfaces to PCAP™ from application programs. Developed and implemented DMC™ interfaces.
Provided general software support including interfacing PCAP™ and UNOCAL HP9000 proprietary data base to the dynamic matrix control program (DMC™) versions 3.02 and 4.03, a real time multi-variable constrained control program, and to other applications software, such as Severity and OPSO (olefins optimizer).
Responsible for implementation of DMC™ and Severity demos on DEC VAX computer interfaced with a MOD-300 system which were shown at ISA and other shows, and demonstrated to potential clients.
Senior Systems Engineer (1988-1989)
Responsible for proposal preparation including, computer control scheme, scope of work and execution plan in response to client specifications.
Prepared control loop diagrams and analyzer specifications submitted with DCS and analyzer bid specifications.
