Summary:
Presently working as Senior Advanced Process Controls and Optimization Engineer in Qatar Petroleum Refinery. A total of 20 years experience in Petroleum Refinery industry which includes 7 years in Operations, 5 years in Process Analysis & Design (Technical Services Division) and eight 8 years in Advanced Process Controls and optimization.

APC & Optimization:
Participated alongwith licenser in implementing APC applications in eighteen process units from functional design stage till site acceptance test. Performed benefit estimation accrued through implementation of APC applications. Participated in implementing Honeywell's heater pass balancing applications, UOP's TWT calculations and user alerts.

Developed property inferential using statistical tools. Presently, responsible for troubleshooting, development, maintenance and backup of the APC applications in CDU, CCR and hydrotreating units. Conduct APC benefit study per quarter.

Process Analysis & Design (Technical Services):
FCC Contacting, catalyst and unit performance test runs. Review of process packages for envisaged units. Technical representative in Hazop meetings. Undertook studies and recommended suggestions for compliance to new product specifications. Carried out equipment failure studies and suggested action plans. Preparation of unit performance reports. Develop new schemes and process modifications to troubleshoot and improve the plant performance. Process Simulation using Hextran, STX/ACX and Hysim (now Hysis). Acted as shift in-charge of Fuel Refinery. Incharge for commissioning of "Waste heat optimization" project. Participated in commissioning of revamped VDU and Propane augmentation project. Conducted safety talks and trained shift crew.
