LEAD INSTRUMENT & CONTROL SYSTEM ENGINEER August 2007 - December 2008
Saudi Kayan Complex, a petrochemical company with $21B in Saudi Riyals.
Assigned to the Olefins Grass Root Project with the objective of leading the Control System Group and Engineering Contractors to follow company specifications for the Instrument and Control System Scope of the engineering, procuring and construction plant utilizing SCORE Furnace Technology.
* Successfully increased the controlling and stability of the plant, improving the control schemes of the furnace firing and feed controller and optimizing the recommended spare part by vendor base.
* Produced a $1M savings in spare parts by optimizing the spare part recommended by vendors and engaging past maintenance experience to evaluate the spar part requirements.
* Directed the technical and commercial bid evaluation for field instruments, control/actuated values, Main Automated Contract (MAC), turbine controllers, analyzers, and telecommunications.

Assigned to Revamp the Methanol Plant replacing a pneumatic DCS panel and field instruments to Yokogawa DCS CS3000 and electronic devices with Foundation Field Bus Technology, FF.
* Redesigned the current scheme that would trip only one plant versus the 2 plants together saving an estimated cost of $2M in production loss of at least 2 days.
* Accountable for technical review of all vendors' proposals and leading extensive evaluation of all design documents.
* Conducted full life cycle testing including DCS Factory Acceptance Testing, FAT, for DCS and Vibration Monitoring Systems, and Loop Testing, commission, and the start-up activities.
