PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Bonga Field (Offshore Nigeria): Coupled all the 3D models into a surface network. In all, eight 3D models were hooked up to the surface network made up of production manifolds, risers, Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. I actively supervise Junior Reservoir Engineers while assisting Senior Reservoir Engineers in 3D modelling best practices.
- Bittern (EPE Field): Started with a material balance study to validate the in-place volumes derived from the static realisations. Later progressed to a full field simulation model to evaluate the development opportunities in the field. A relatively new well had its sand screen collapsing due to excessive drawdown. The history match is challenging. Possibly arriving at a non-unique history match. A range of history-matched models will be delivered to the client (EPE). This study is ongoing.
- Was the lead staff Reservoir Engineers for the field study done on the Cluster 2B node. This node consists of 1 oil field and 4 large gas fields. These fields are satellite fields. There is no development is in the area. These gas fields are scheduled to supply the Olokola Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in Nigeria.
- Participated as the lead Reservoir Engineer on a synergy study between Chevron and Shell in Lagos Nigeria.
- Used the Integrated Production Modelling (IPM) approach for the Santa Barbara Field study
- Used 'Experimental Design' to evaluate the uncertainties inherent in the Santa Barbara field.
- Used Fastrack (Volumetrics package) to evaluate the volumes ranges in the Bakingili field (JV between Shell & Total) in Cameroon. Quantified and reported the Scope and Reserves volumes and the uncertainties associated within those volumes.
- Was the principal Reservoir Engineer for the Santa Barbara study carried out in Shell EPT-S Aberdeen. Drafted the work schedule and CTR (cost time resources) sheet to the partners. Participated in the project framing for the study. Went ahead to present a year's study work at a Value Assurance Review. This is a Realising The Limit (RTL) initiative developed for the Shell group.
- Executed a quick study to investigate the possibilities of communication between Santa Barbara and the nearby ChevronTexaco field (Robertkiri) in the aquifer. A classical approach was deployed by looking at all RFTs, BHPs, fluid contacts movements and PVT properties.
- Experienced in using PetroVR (Caesar Systems Package) to do quick economic evaluation of development scenarios. Was able to screen out uneconomic development scenarios during the 'First Pass Asset Review'(FPAR)
- Quality checked and analysed the PVT samples existing in the Santa Barbara field (Shell Nigeria). A total of 15 PVT samples exist in this field. Rounded the study with a report titled 'Santa Barbara PVT Validation Exercise Report'. This formed the basis of the reservoir simulation studies that subsequently followed.
- Developed simple Buckley-Leverett, Dietz and a tool for evaluating water injection effects on reservoirs, using excel spreadsheets
- Carried out a quick PVT analysis of 15 samples in the Santa Barbara field, by using Buckley diagrams for initial validation and Libra for analysis.
- Penguin field: Reservoir Engineer. Constructed 3 full 3D reservoir models from GEOCAP based geological models. Proceeded to history match the models and make predictions. The primary objective of the study was to look at the scope for development and evaluate the level of uncertainties.
- Skua field: Reservoir Engineer. The primary objective of the study was to analyse the historical flow data. In addition, a close examination of both data and models showed that the material balance and dynamic models of Skua needed rebuilding.
- (1) Otumara D6800 /7000 MoReS simulation model (updated SPDC model of a reservoir complex, 5 producers), (2) Otumara C1000 MoReS simulation model (important reservoir of 164 MMstb STOIIP, 14 producing wells, several static modifications required to obtain match), (3) Escravos Beach C1000/C2000 MoReS simulation model (important reservoir of 163 MMstb STOIIP, 8 producing wells, several static modifications required to obtain match), (4) integrated oil and gas- forecasting for different surface facility options, (5) static in-place volume and reserves estimation (PROTEUS), (6) decline-curve analysis versus DUR. Developed an understanding of the dynamic reservoir performance for possible development options and identified the key influencing reservoir parameters and hence the potential and risks associated with the development options.
- Used the 3DATW™ process of focused decision making and the application of project economics in preparing business decisions (OTUMiser®, Economic Work Bench)
- Took the Otumara AGG Node Integrated Oil & Gas Project Study through C2V, V2V and VAR2 (all SHELL initiatives). Made numerous presentations, as the responsible Reservoir Engineer, on the forecast of possible development options to SPDC Management Team.
- Set up simulation models, as part of a volume-to-value (V2V) exercise for three reservoirs in the Otumara Field in SHELL Nigeria. Ran models to determine optimum field development plan. Compared the production performance of vertical and horizontal wells. Predicted the reservoir performance for various development scenarios and formulated field development, which allowed the maximisation of the cycle value of the asset, taking into account all relevant technical and contractual boundary condition (wells, surface facilities, HSE, contracts, etc.). Presented results to the SHELL Management teams. This formed the basis of the FDP that was carried out in this field in 2001- 2002. Twelve in-fill wells were drilled, coupled with some gas lift installation, re-completions and re-perforations.
- Evaluated reserves of the Otumara and Saghara fields in Shell Nigeria. Used a Monte Carlo Based program (PROTEUS) to generate probabilistic estimates. These reserves figures were subsequently challenged at managerial meetings, after which approval for booking was given.
- Conducted material balance studies of several reservoirs in the Otumara, Saghara and Warri River fields in SHELL Nigeria using HYDRA software. Determined oil in place for different reservoir layers under various gas cap and aquifer assumptions. Finalised by writing the study reports.
- Performed well test analysis for several wells in the Otumara and Saghara fields in SHELL Nigeria using Pan System software.
- Provided reservoir engineering support for the determination of Shell Nigeria's equity in the Ojumole field- a unitized field with ChevronTexaco.
- Participated in various reservoir engineering tasks including PVT sampling and analysis, prospect evaluation (Otumara, Saghara and Escravos Beach exploration wells in SHELL Nigeria), reserves reporting, oil and gas forecasting, well site engineer and joint venture activities.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Experienced user of Microsoft Windows and Unix operating systems. Programming in Fortran, Visual Basic and C.
Experienced in a number of reservoir simulators including Eclipse 100, 200 and 300, MoReS, PETREL, VIP
Other software used includes Prosper, Mbal, Pansystem, SAPHIRE, PEEP, PVTsim, OFM and Microsoft Office. Experienced with writing Excel macros and developing large spreadsheets.
