Obtained my Msc in geology at the University of Utrecht (stratigraphy, sedimentology and structural geology). Held positions from assistant to professor at the universities of Utrecht, Tunja (Colombia) and Medellin (Colombia) where I taught general geology, stratigraphy and sedimentology. Since 1982, I worked in multiple functions as well as an independent consultant with major oil companies, involved in projects in the North Sea area and South America(Bolivia,Colombia), covering multiple exploration, production and business development projects. Also taught many courses, covering all aspects of the oil and gas industry. In the nineties I was President of the Dutch Petroleum Circle and Vice President of the organizing committee "Groningen Congress".
