Description:
GIS / GPS Mapping of Electrical Networks in RR District: Andhra Pradesh State Government has planned to implement GIS in Power Distribution System in all 25 districts of the state. Now as the first phase they have taken 25 substations in Ranga Reddy district for consideration. The main aim of this project is to create Electrical Network and attaching the attribute data to the particular utility in Ranga Reddy district. The substations are Mamidipalli, Gaganpahad, Katedan, NPA, Shamshabad, Champapet, Gachibowli, Esci, IIIT, Uppal, Dommara Pochampalli, Gundla Pochampalli, Chandanagar, Kukatpalli, Medchel, Aliabad, Medicity, Jeedimetla ¡V 1, Jeedimetla ¡V 2, Kothapet, Turkayamjal, Vanasthalipuram, Hayatnagar, Ibrahimbagh, and AP Police Academy. The network is created by taking latitude & longitude coordinate values of each pole using GPS. Taking GPS units we have mapped it with generating the Points and Lines. At the same time survey people collect the attribute information of each distribution transformer, poles, conductors etc. and this data was attached to the smart network using the default database.
After that this smart Electrical Network was overlaid on the base map.
