Responsibilities
* Execute highly advanced PLC/DCS programs in multiple control systems environment for various process engineering applications including:
1. Metering (Nitrogen and Oxygen), Fill Zones, PAM systems, Burner Systems and ESD systems.
1. Cold Box control, process optimization and cost-reduction.
2. Equipment control such as: pumps (cold, warm), turbines, centrifugal compressors (including surge control), etc.
3. Multivariable controllers, PIDs tuning, ratio and cascade control.
* Generate logic drawings and loop diagrams for produced software, or design software according to given or existing logic flow diagrams.
* Lead field loop check activities and equipment startup as well as ensure the efficient integration of new controls into existing control systems.
* Setup, modify and debug HMI & graphic systems. Modify the Advanced Control Systems Architecture to accommodate new changes. Execute all required configuration and programming changes to ensure the correct operation.
* Electrical design and troubleshooting of schematics wiring diagrams and relay logic (i.e. PAM systems and critical interlocking applications).
* Panel design and checkout as well as specify and order control systems components (i.e. various types of transmitter, valves, regulators, PLC/ HMI hardware and software, field I/O devices, analyzers, purifiers, test cylinders, etc.)
* Generate/ modify cable schedules, bill of material, ICL (Instrumentation Checkout List), setpoints list, cable routing diagrams and plot plans.
* Provide control systems support for plant personnel on the phone or by remotely accessing the plant SCADA system or PLC.
* Manage contractors and field technicians for multiple projects simultaneously, organize/manage projects meetings.

* Overseeing all phases of multiple projects:
1. Estimating & Project Approval: Work with internal customer in operations as well as outside suppliers to define scope of work and impact on existing system. Prepare projects documentations, bid packages (RFQs). Manage/help in vendors selection and approval efforts. Develop work-hour and material cost estimates. Coordinate with all stakeholders to analyze different options and their impact on cost and operation.
2. Project Execution: Develop detailed IFC (Issue For Construction) packages. Closely monitor progress to ensure timely execution of projects within allotted schedule and budget. Supervise vendors and contractors during installation. Coordinate with vendors, project managers and internal customers as issues arise during construction. Develop action plans, PCNs and NCRs as need be.
3. Commissioning/Startup and Handover: Ensure that As-Built drawings include all red-line markups and up-to-date status. Provide training to operators on new control schemes. Create, administer and ensure the completion of punch list items.
* Participated in various safety studies throughout projects lifecycle (PHA, HAZID, HAZOP, MOC and PSSR). Gained knowledge of numerous safety standards (i.e. CSA, ISA, IEC...Etc.).
* Was able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Developed an advanced reporting system using Excel and VBA to generate monthly and daily reports for billing and KPIs monitoring by interfacing with various plant SCADAs.
