Senior Piping Designer/Field Coordinator/PDMS and PDS Designer

And fertilizers. Held lead positions as well as coordination of duties between client, contractors and fabricators. Involved with scheduling of model construction, drawings, and field construction, Set up standards and procedures. Performance in mechanical, piping and HVAC design; including layout, drafting and design. Over nine years experience with piping design on PDMS and three plus years on PDS, as well as Microstation.

Experience:

Design: Design and layout for acid, utility and pipe rack area for coordination with off-site users as well as the tie-ins to the existing plant. Area lead on C&P projects. Designed piping systems for a sulfur recovery unit and a chlorine vaporization unit. Equipment and piping arrangement for a tank farm in a glycol plant. Designed conveyor systems for food services. Plumbing design on a modular Bio-Tech project for shipment to Puerto Rico.
Checking: Sr. Design Checker for chem.& pigment project using PDMS. Updated and added new design on the ortho's. Designed new lines as well as getting fixing lines so Iso's could be created. Checked P&ID's, nozzle orientation, equipment arrangements and vender drawings. Design and checking of pipe supports for fiberglass piping systems. Supervised coordination of checked isometrics and model update as well as other piping systems on a coal gasification project.
Field: Responsible for design and walk downs for piping revisions during plant turn around. Layout and design of an Ethanol pumping and blending project, which included the routing of some 5000ft of pipe. Walk down for a pharmaceutical plant for as built drawings and development of utility distribution drawings.
Walk downs for start ups in pharmaceutical and chemical plants. Design and layout for vapor and solvent recovery systems in biotech and pharmaceutical projects. Tie-ins to existing piping in conjunction with new design for a pharmaceutical plant in Puerto Rico. Senior lead designer for a candy plant that required the conversion of two old kitchens into one kitchen serving two product lines. Pipe fitting and installation of HVAC including design for both residential and commercial. Responsible for coordination of plant maintenance and contractors for the solution of rigging and equipment removal for pulp and paper projects. Worked in the validation department doing walk down inspections, coordination of work permits and organizing protocols in a pharmaceutical plant.
