Roles & Responsibilities (brief summary of experience):
Reliability

* Piping Reliability Engineer for offsite piping
* Implemented 'Risk Based Inspection' programs for deciding inspection frequency & philosophy of piping corrosion loops
* Carried out 'Fitness For Service' analysis of piping, tanks and pressure vessels
* Carried out root-cause failure analysis of corrosion related problems and given suitable recommendations for metallurgy upgrade, process change etc.

Inspection

* On-line corrosion monitoring of piping and stationary equipment by UT thickness measurement as per inspection schedule. Evaluation of data – corrosion rate, safe thickness, remaining life. Documentation of thickness report in the prescribed format(in SAP)
* Visual inspection of Equipment and Piping as per scheduled plan: Leakage monitoring damage to insulation, corrosion under insulation, thermal expansion of piping etc. Documentation of inspection observations in the prescribed format.(in SAP)
* Heat Exchangers (Shell & Tube, Air Cooled type): Inspection of shell, channels, tubes bundles, tube sheet. Inspection of fouling in the tubes. Post cleaning inspection of tubes bundles, shell inside, channel of exchanger. Witnessing the Hydro test of the exchangers, tube plugging / tube replacements etc. Documentation of inspection results in prescribed formats.
* Piping: Inspection of welding repairs of CS, SS, Cr-Mo piping. Replacement of valves. Hydro testing of repaired piping loops. Hottappings on the piping system.
* Pressure Safety Valves: Witnessing as received test. Inspection of dismantled parts and their damage. Pressure testing and calibration after assembly
* Pressure Vessels: Internal inspection before and after cleaning. Inspection of internals – demisters, baffles, vortex breakers, internal ladders, nozzle connection, thickness measurement etc. Documentation of inspection results in prescribed formats(in SAP

QA/QC

* Knowledge of various welding processes
* Prepared Welding Procedure Specifications in SAP
* Good understanding of WPS, PQR and WQT Code requirements
* Expertise in using and interpreting NDT tools/techniques like Radiography, Ultrasonic testing,,
Magnetic particle inspection, dye penetrant testing, fibroscopy,Vaccum Box test
* Conversant with design and fabrication requirements conforming to Codes & Standards like
ASME, IBR and NACE
* Prepared and reviewed 'Quality Assurance Plans' and 'Inspection Test Plans' for fabrication of equipment & piping

Period (July 2002 to May 2006): Joined as GET mechanical maintenance rolling mill, ISPAT Industries, Dolvi, Maharashtra. As Assistant Manager Rolling mill mechanical maintenance.
