I have Joined WorleyParsons as Lead Mechanical Engineer in September 2006 and working for PMC engineering team for Ma'aden Phosphate Project in various phases of the project.
Projects handled:
A) MA'ADEN Phosphate Project from Sep-2006 till present: Lead Mechanical Engineer in PMC engineering team of the project. The Phosphate Chemical Complex is being developed by a Ma'aden subsidiary - the Ma'aden Phosphate Company (MPC) and consists of four Chemical Plants including a Phosphoric Acid Plant, a Sulfuric Acid Plant, Ammonia Plant, a Diamonium Phosphate Plant, and associated infrastructure facilities. The Phosphate Complex will be supplied with phosphate concentrate shipped by rail from a MPC Phosphate ore beneficiation plant situated at Al Jalamid approximately 1,400km North West of the complex location.
Responsibilities include preparation of Ma'aden Mechanical specifications and ISBL conceptual design, data sheets, Requisitions, TBE, and cost estimation during FEED phase of the contract. During FEED phase, technically reviewed EPC contractor's open book estimates and provided input to EPC contract scope of work. After award of EPC contracts, during detailed engineering phase responsible for review of EPC's standards, specifications, datasheets, requisitions, vendor proposals, TBE and vendor detail drawings providing PMC review comments. Also reviewing and responding to EPC contractors technical queries on behalf on client. Responsible for finalizing railway loop layout for Acid loading and phosphate unloading at Ras Az Zawr site, also coordinating and meeting with Saudi Railway Authority in Riyadh for design issues related with Acid loading and phosphate unloading facilities. Participate in 3-D model review prepared by EPC contractors. Responsible for attending and providing PMC inputs in technical matters related with Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Waste Heat Boilers, Process Columns, Storage Tanks, material handling equipment etc.
WP is also responsible for detailed design of ISBL facilities which includes Sea Water Supply System, Natural Gas System, Gypsum Mobile Conveyors and Radial Stackers and various other package equipments. I am responsible for detailed design activities for Gypsum Mobile Conveyors and Radial Stackers, pH Adjustment unit, Safety Showers and providing support to other packages on need basis.
B) MA'ADEN Phosphate Project "Material Handling MH1 Contract" from December-2007 till July-2008: In the absence of regular material handling project manager filled in role of material handling manager and performed responsibilities like evaluation of EPC bids, coordinating with inter departments, Client and bidders; issuing post tender clarifications, technical negotiation with tenderers, preparation of technical recommendation report for contract award and updating the scope of work for contract award. Material Handling MH1 contract includes a facility for rail/road unloading of raw materials like Phosphate Concentrate, Kaolin and Reactive Silica. After the unloading material is conveyed to intermediate storage which includes a phosphate concentrate storage building and storage silo for Kaolin and Reactive Silica. From intermediate storage material is reclaimed and sent to battery limit of Phosphoric Acid Plants to meet operational needs of the plants. Also actively involved in finalizing layout for the facility.
WP project management recognized my work and awarded me Employee of the Year for 2007-2008.
2. February 2005 – September 2006: TECHNIP, Abu-Dhabi, UAE
During this period worked in Technip Abu-Dhabi as Senior Design Engineer in Static Equipment group and worked in various types/phases of the projects like FEED, EPC for Petrochemical, Refinery and LNG plants.
Projects handled:
A) QATARGAS II LNG Project (Chiyoda Technip Joint Venture Project for Qatargas) From July-2005 till Sep-2006: As part of this project Chiyoda (Japan) Technip (France) joint venture (CTJV) was constructing the world's 2 largest LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) trains for the Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited (II) ("Qatargas II"). Under this project, the joint venture partners were engineering and building Trains 4 and 5 at the Qatargas plant in Ras Laffan. Each train of 7.8 million tons per annum of LNG.
Worked as Deputy Lead Static Equipment engineer, responsible for Preparation of Mechanical data sheets and Material Requisitions for P.O., Vendor Print Checking, Co-ordination with inter department as well as with vendor for Site Fabricated Storage Tanks, Pig receivers and Slug catcher. Also responsible for engineering expediting of Storage tank subcontractor Belleli Energy S.p.A., situated in Dubai/Sharjah for engineering and shop prefabrication activities of 25 nos. storage tanks for the project.
B) HP FEED GAS CONDITIONING SYSTEM (EPCM project for ADGAS, Abu-Dhabi) From Feb-2005 – July 2005: The Project consisted of existing 3-trains of LNG Plant and associated utilities at Das Island. Plant products are LNG, LPG, Pentane and molten sulphur. To overcome the foaming problem in the HP Feed Gas system, ADGAS provided two new vessels Gas Scrubber and Feed Gas Liquid Knock Out Drum and added demisters in existing Slug Receiver vessels based on the recommendation by Technip.
Worked as a Senior Discipline engineer for two new vessels Gas Scrubber and Feed Gas Liquid Knock Out Drum and providing demisters in existing Slug Receiver vessels. Responsible for preparation of Material requisitions, Specifications, Mechanical datasheets for Enquiry and Purchase. Reviewed vendor's offers and Prepared TQs and Technical Bid Tabulation, replies to Client comments, Co-ordination of vendor meetings. Review of vendor's drawings, Design calculations, Procedures, Data books etc. and co-ordination with all related disciplines for Technical matters.
C) CSP DEBOTTLENECKING PROJECT (FEED project for ADMA-OPCO, Abu-Dhabi) From March-2005 – July 2005: ADMA-OPCO operates the offshore oil and gas producing facility at Zakum West Super Complex (ZWSC). The crude produced from the offshore field of Lower Zakum and processed at ZWSC. As a result of ADMA-OPCO's increased future production target and also increasing Gas-Oil ratio, Collector Separator Platform at ZWSC required to handle increased throughput in the coming years over its original design capacity. As part of CSP Debottlenecking FEED project, existing four Separator internals and two Gas Scrubber internals needed to be replaced.
Worked as a Senior Discipline engineer for replacement of internals of existing Separator and Gas Scrubber Vessels. Responsible for preparation of Specifications, Mechanical Datasheet for Modified Separator and Modified Gas Scrubbers. Review of Vessel inspection reports and adequacy check of existing vessels. Co-ordination with Client and inter-disciplines for Technical matters.
3. October 2001 – February 2005: BECHTEL, New Delhi, INDIA
During this period worked as a Pressure Vessel Design Engineer in various types/phases of projects like FEED, LSTK for Petrochemical, Refinery and LNG plants.
Projects handled:
A) LNG project (Marathon, EG LNG Train 1 Project) From December-2003 till February 2005: Worked as vessel engineer in EPC phase for EG LNG Train 1 project (Marathon LNG). Responsible for Preparation of Mechanical data sheets, Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluation, cost estimation, Vendor Print Checking, Co-ordination with inter department as well as with vendor for Pressure Vessels, Tray Internals, Storage Tanks, Filters and Gas Separators. Worked on assignment to Houston office from 1-March-04 till 28-Sep-04 for bid evaluation, finalization of vendors and vendor print review of static equipment.
B) UOP Schedule A Project (From Oct-01 to March-03, Aug-03 till Feb-04): Worked as Vessel Design Lead Engineer for the preparation of Pressure Vessel specifications of Basic Engineering Design Schedule A Packages for Technology Licensor UOP. Responsible for preparation of project specifications for Pressure Vessels, Column Internals, Mesh Blankets, Tower Packing, Inert Ceramic Balls and Material Handling Equipment. Job activity includes vessel sizing calculation, specifying support type, design code, mechanical check, sizing calculations for various internals, vendor print checking for compliance of Licensor's requirements. Ensuring adherence of all specifications to technical and standard requirements of Licensor. Also underwent 6 months (December 2001 to June 2002) of on the job training at Technology Licensor's office in USA.
C) LNG feed (Marathon, Alba Phase 3 Project) From April-2003 to July-03: Worked as Lead vessel engineer during feed and estimation phase for Alba Phase 3 project (Marathon LNG). Responsible for Preparation of Mechanical data sheets, Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluation, cost estimation, Co-ordination with inter department as well as with vendor for Pressure Vessels, Storage Tanks, Filters and Gas Separators.
D) Darwin LNG Project (from July-2003 to Aug-03): Responsible for vendor drawing and calculation review/approval for Pressure Vessels. Also reviewed weld procedures, weld maps, paint procedures, NDE procedures.
