Focus Energy Ltd. is Oil and Gas Exploration Company, operating in India where it has a number of targets in the highly prospective Indus Basin, which is known for large oil and gas reserves. It is part of a privately owned diversified business group having interest in various industries and business interests.
Key Deliverables:
* Working on HPHT (high pressure high temperature) deep vertical and deviated hole drilling in High concentrated H2S environment.
* Processing of Drilling Fluids & Brines in Water and Oil Based Drilling Operation.
* Spud Mud: Bentonite, Barite Mud treated with XC Polymers PAC and other normal chemicals specially conditioned to cope with Kopilli Shale that is very hard and brittle.
* KCl polymer Mud, KCl Non-Damaging Mud, Lignosulphonate Mud, PHPA Mud and Brines (KCl, CaCl2-NaCl), specially designed for combating interactive shale and clays.
* Maintain & calibrate Mud Testing Equipment like field laboratory experiments like Density, Rheology, API water loss, HTHP water loss, Chemical analysis of salinity, alkalinity, total hardness, sand content, solid content analysis, MBT, KCl concentration analysis, PHPA concentration by Clapper Test, Pf, Mf, Ca++, Mg++, Turbidity determination.
* Operation Control of the various solid control equipments such as; Shale Shakers, De-Sander, De-Silter, Centrifuge etc.
* Implementation and co-ordination of Total Fluid Management, Stuck pipe, Caving hole to minimize fluid losses.
* Responsibilities included, recording & reporting of daily Drilling Fluid Properties.
* Exposure to various Drilling Activity like Casing, Totco Reading, Cementing, etc
* Maintenance and tracking of Chemicals Inventory data that are used, received and stocks on hand.

* Review of daily targets and make necessary alterations (as and when necessary) to daily plans to ensure effective process control, quality & timely delivery.
PROJECTS/SEMINAR ATTENDED:
1.Performed Summer Project in BHARAT PETROLEUM CORPORATION LTD., (R&D), Greater Noida.
PROJECT TITLE: Bioethanol from Lignocelluloses
PROJECT DURATION: 3 Months (June 2005 – Aug 2005)
ROLE: Recovery of Ethanol which works as an important resource for the future.
* Recovered Ethanol from various Feedstocks provided to me by Bharat Petroleum, e.g. Bajra, Jowar, Sugarcane, Citrus wastes, Grass, etc.
* Basic processes involve the running of the feedstock with the acid and neutralizing the acid by Ion – Exchange method which results in the sugar extraction which is then subjected to microbial fermentation to give ethanol.
NOTE: This project was assigned to BPCL itself, I worked for the project and completed the whole chapters in a short time.
2. Performed Summer Project in HINDALCO ALUMINIUM LTD., RENUKOOT.
PROJECT TITLE: Major Processes Involved in Industrial Production of Alumina
PROJECT DURATION: 3 Months (May 2004 – Aug 2004)
ROLE: Industrial production of Alumina, right from the bauxite treatment to different processes it undergoes during the production like Digestion,Sweetening, Calcinations, etc.
* Gained expertise in various tests which are performed for the precise analysis of the sample those are recovered at different stages.
* Working Exposure different instruments like Spectrophometer, X-ray diffraction, etc which are used to specify purity and the contamination present.
* Knowledge of working principle of HPLC, GC, NMR, UV-IR, X-RAY.
