I joined M/s. Snamprogetti S.A. Ltd on 19th January 2008 as 'Utilities & Offsite Superintendent' and later elevated to 'Deputy Commissioning Manager'.

M/s. BIPC (formerly known as Iran-Japan Petrochemical Co. As a 'Specialist Process Engineer' of the Process Engineering Department of Abniroo Company (Utility division of BIPC), I am responsible for review of plant performance, trouble shooting, plant modification, preparation of technical documents for new Power & Steam generation, Water pre-treatment with RO Package, Nitrogen generation, Air compressors and Mixed Bed (polishing) units. I am also responsible for training and development of engineers in the department to take up higher responsibilities and acquire additional knowledge.

The gas fields consist of Gas wells, Gas gathering station, 1.0 MMSCMPD Capacity Dehydration unit, Gas metering & Distribution. The processed gas is used for Electric Power Generation by Gas Turbine and Heat Recovery Steam Generation.

Responsibilities:
As Field Manager I was responsible for the Operation and Maintenance of the above Gas Processing Complex, Cost control and Management of about 60 persons of various trades and disciplines.

National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), at Faraka and Ramagundam on turnkey basis. NTPC is one of the major power generation companies in the public sector. The project is designed to treat Clarifier sludge/ Gravity filter backwash water, Coal slurry water from coal handling area and Oily waste water. The treated water is reused in the complex for horticulture. The treatment scheme consists of various Collection sumps and transferring arrangement for Primary treated wastewater, Flash mixer, Tube settlers (clarifier), Final effluent balancing and disposal arrangement.

Responsibilities:
Independent responsibility for the completion of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation jobs, Pre commissioning, Commissioning, Guarantee Test Run and handing over of the completed plant to client, NTPC, Farakka.

The Ammonia & Urea plants were engineered by Snamprogetti, Italy and Offsite facilities by Development Consultants Limited, Kolkatta. I joined NFCL in 1986 as Deputy Manager (Offsite) and worked in the project department. In 1990 promoted as Manager (Urea) and worked in the construction, commissioning and operation of Urea plant. In 1992 transferred to Offsite & Power plant.

Responsibilities:
During the project stage I was responsible for finalizing Basic Design Criteria for Utility plants, Coordination with Consultant and Vendor for Floating of Tender Enquiry, Evaluation of Tender, Finalization of Contract, Procurement, Review of Design Documents and Drawings, Follow-up Construction and completion of projects. Later I was responsible for Inspection, Testing, Commissioning and Operation including training of personnel of Offsite & Utility plants.

I joined the company during the project/ construction stage and involved in the construction progress monitoring, coordination with consultant and contractor, testing, commissioning, operation, training and performance test run of the offsite facilities.

The Ammonia & Urea plants were engineered by Toyo Engineering Corporation; Japan and Offsite facilities by Engineers India Limited, New Delhi. The Offsite facilities consist of Water Pre Treatment plant, Demineralization plant, Cooling Towers, Instrument and Plant Air Compressors, Air Dryers, Sulfur Recovery and Effluent Treatment Plant.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the Testing, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Operation of the above mentioned offsite facilities. Responsibilities also include manpower planning, maintenance coordination, training, and plant performance monitoring and managing about 15 operating personnel in shifts.
