PROJECT EXPERIENCE
SPDC's AWOBA NON-ASSOCIATED GAS (NAG) GATHERING PROJECT (DETAILED DESIGN)
The Awoba NAG Project located within the Awoba Brownfield in the Eastern swamp asset of SPDC is designed to drill 3 nos. Gas wells and deliver 200 MMscf/d of gas to NLNG by 2011. This is to facilitate the start-up of NLNG Train-7, increase the C3/C4 content of gas supply to NLNG and reduce the gas off take from the Soku reservoirs.
The project scope is summarized below:
High-pressure non-associated gas will be routed to the inlet manifold mounted via 3 nos. 12-inch #2500 flowlines. The flowlines will run from Awoba well-3 (1 no.) and well-7 slots (2 nos.) and will be tied to the inlet manifold. All flow lines will be equipped with flow meters for flow measurement and control.
Provision of a pig receiver station.
Provision of 3nos vessel type slug catchers designed for 67 MMscf/d of gas and 10,000 bpd of condensate per slug catcher and tie-in of the slug catchers to Soku LGSP.
Provisions of additional 2 x 15,000 bpd condensate export pumps.

SPDC's SURGE VESSEL GAS GATHERING AND COMPRESSION FOR EKULAMA II FLOWSTATION (FEED & DETAILED DESIGN)
Ekulama II flowstation which was brought onstream in 2001 is a double bank flowstation located in the Santa Barbara oil field in the Niger Delta, 60km southwest of Port Harcourt.
The surge vessel gas gathering for Ekulama II flowstation is part of Santa Barbara late oil development project in Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC).
To comply with the Nigerian government regulation for "Flares Out", recovery of the surge vessel off-gas is required. The project involves the installation of a compression system at Ekulama II flowstation to recover off-gas from the facility. The surge vessel off-gas need to be boosted from atmospheric pressure of 1.1 bara to LP separator pressure of 4 bara using atmospheric flash gas compressor and the compressed fluid routed to the existing LP compressor. The gas is then fed to the AGG plant which sends the gas to NLNG Bonny Island.
I am involved in the
- Modelling of the reservoir fluid from the reservoir to the surface facilities aimed at correlating the actual production result with that obtained through simulation and thereby getting the true composition of gas coming out of the surge vessel using Aspen Hysys simulation software.
- Modelling of the corresponding system which includes the compressor, the compressor suction and discharge scrubbers, the compressor after-cooler, and the condensate recycle pump using Aspen Hysys simulation software.
- Confirmation of the surge vessel gas volume from Ekulama II flowstation.
- Processing/sizing checks of how recommended concept affect on upstream and downstream process equipments.
- Sizing and specification of the compression unit including the liquid handling system
- Sizing and specification of the condensate recycle pump
- Sizing of the compressor suction and discharge scrubbers
- Sizing and specification of the scrubber's PSV's
- Preparation of all engineering deliverables which includes the PFD, P&ID, PSFS, C&E Diagram, Heat and Mass balance sheets, process simulation report, equipment data sheets and the various philosophies.

CONCEPTUAL AND FRONT END ENGINEERING & DESIGN OF NORTH OGUGU REVAMP PROJECT (CHEVRON PROJECT)
The North Ogugu revamp project focuses on Conceptual and Front End Engineering Design in support of the North Ogugu production facilities. The North Ogugu is a production facilities located in the Niger Delta comprising of a production platform and a bridge connected living quarters/utilities platform. There is also a wellhead platform (Jacket A) bridge connected to the Production Platform (PP).North Ogugu comprises of Jacket, Piles, Celler deck and production deck. The living quarters/utilities platform comprises of Jacket, Piles, Celler deck, living quarters and hellideck.
The scope of work for the project is as follows.
North Ogugu PP and Jacket G modification for three phase flow to Oguda PP
This involves the identification of process changes which may have to be made to the PP to enable the Ogugu production to be transferred in three phases to Oguda PP for processing in 2007. This shall include evaluation of the existing pipeline from North Ogugu to Jacket G, and from Jacket G to Oguda, with recommendations if additional pipelines are required to handle the production rates.
The adequacy of this arrangement for bulk flow is to be determined. Also for all cases with 3-phase flow, slugging potential at the receiver facilities is to be evaluated.
Fuel Gas System at North Ogugu to produce 0.5 MMSCFD of fuel gas.
This involves the development of a topside model to deliver 0.5 MMSCFD of gas to the gas generator and the carrying out of a vessel capacity check to determine whether the present facility at Ogugu platform can achieve this.
I was involved in the
- Conceptual and FEED aspect of this project. My activities included line sizing, hydrate formation checks, slug calculation checks, fuel gas topside model development using aspen Hysys simulation software, vessel capacity check, preparation of process simulation report.

SPDC's NEMBE-1 FLOWSTATION FUEL GAS PROCESSING PROJECT

SPDC's AWOBA FLOWSTATION GAS PROCESSING PROJECT
Nembe-1 flowstation, Nun River flowstation and Awoba flowstation are all SPDC's flowstations located in the SPDC's eastern operation axis. As part of SPDC's effort to reduce gas flaring and to reduce the unscheduled deferment caused by host communities to its operation, SPDC decide to use gas produced from the flowstations to power high capacity gas generators that will supply electrical power to the flowstations and the host communities. The work involves treatment of gas coming from the wells to the standard that could be used by the gas generators.
I was involved in the
- FEED and DETAILED design calculation to size the various process equipments which includes scrubbers, filters, superheaters, HP gas supply lines, relief valves etc.
- Process simulation using HYSYS simulation software and prepared all the engineering deliverables which includes the PFD, P&ID, PSFS, C&E Diagrams etc.

CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT FOR CHEVRON LAGOS DEEPWATER OFFSHORE LOGISTICS BASE
The project was part of the Lagos oil and gas free trade zone development project. It involves conceptual design for the bulk piping including hydraulic analysis (steady state), pressure loss calculations, compressor sizing and instrument/utility air receiver tank calculations. The bulk systems covered are:
