Harweel/Rabab PDO Oman: Manage a team of PDO/Shell staff, and engineering contractors to complete conceptual studies on Sour Oil & Gas production facility including oil stabilization and gas sweetening and conditioning and high pressure miscible gas injection. CAPEX $3-4 billion.
07/2005- 05/2008: Lead Process Engineer; PDO/Shell; Muscat Oman
Harweel Phase 2AB project 65,000 BBLD; High pressure (600 bar)/Hi H2S (8%) crude stabilization/ Gas sweetening/Gas injection. Supervising a team of 4/5 PDO engineers to review/approve EPC detailed engineering/Hazop/HSE/Commissioning packages.

Flow Assurance/Chemical Systems Engineering Lead: Manage/direct steady state, transient, wax, hydrate, scale, corrosion, and chemical system engineering studies/modeling. Define system operating envelopes and functional requirements of the subsea/topside equipments. Develop flow assurance strategies & mitigation/remediation processes (Hydrate, wax, scale, asphaltene, corrosion) for steady state, shutins, startups, commissioning etc. Define topside/subsea chemical systems requirements. Develop operational logic charts, train operators. Involved in many offshore oil and gas projects in GoM, West Africa; South America in water depths of 2000-7000 feet.

A. Develop, implement and debug mathematical models and solution algorithms for process flow sheets calculations including multi-phase and complex flow and heat transfer, catalytic reactors and kinetics, distillation, phase equilibria, and physical thermodynamic properties. Principal developer of the following Commercial Software Packages:
- SiNet XLC (Vaaler Award 1999) Fluid Flow package for Multi-phase, multi-component, non-isothermal flow in pipelines and networks for distribution and gathering systems for oil, chemical and gas systems. Models include 2-phase gas-liquid, slurry, compressible gas, and liquid phase (Newtonian and non-Newtonian). Includes many of the pipeline equipment such as heat exchangers, control valves, flow meters and pumps may be calculated. Extensive heat transfer model is included. (10000 users worldwide. Selected as corporate hydrodynamic software package by many companies as Shell, Dow, 3M, Eastman, Air Products, Chevron...etc).
- ChemPro Flare, A flare header analysis/design with 1) a extensive database links to handle different relieve cases and contingencies, 2) Relieve Valve sizing program, and 3) Dynamic Fire case analysis program to find the gas vent as function of time.
- REACT, Multi-phase and catalytic reactor design: Models include: Trickle-bed; Slurry-bed; Fixed -bubble beds, 3-phase agitated tanks, 3-phase fluidized beds etc; Models incorporate intra-particle, gas-liquid and liquid-solid mass transfer.
01/1997-2001 Lamar University (Adjunct professor/Researcher)
- Teaching: graduate course in multi-phase kinetics and reactor design and thermodynamics.
