Statoil Gullfaks Field Upgrade Project – North Sea, Norway
Addition of new Separator tank and appurtenances:
Structural analyst and designer for various steelwork modifications to existing Gullfaks A platform to suit new decks and provision of new separator cylinder, using hand calculations, spreadsheets and STAAD-Pro all to NORSOK, DnV and Eurocode design standards.

Analysis & Caisson Ice and Wave Deflector for Plated Structure:
Leader of the core engineering team for the analysis and design of the Caisson Ice Deflector. This involved PATRAN-Pre-processing/SESAM post-processing of the Caisson Ice Deflector model as well as the structural and fatigue design of all structural elements including primary structure (plates, girders, stiffeners, and welds), crane pedestal, oil off-loading arm and evaluation arm pedestals, utility and evacuation module supports, and the intermediate deck.

Brownfield Modifications for Hutton TLP Topsides Refit:
As a part of the Topsides secondary steel design team, was responsible for the design of Utility Module including connections to AISC LRFD, as well as design of the Intermediate Deck structure using SESAM suite and hand calculations backed up by MATHCAD/MS Excel templates.

Plated Sub-structure Design:
As Senior Engineer responsible for analysis and design of an offshore oil platform in the form of a steel-plated caisson with concrete filled cofferdam walls and stiffened plate bottom and roof box sections. As leader of core team for four sub-models, responsible for carrying out linear static (gravity, wave, ice, temperature, and topside loading) analysis of roof, bottom and cofferdam sub-models of the structure using the finite element package SESAM, MATHCAD and hand calcs. to DnV 30.1.

Project Management:
Remit also included day-to-day management of the design work/staff involving work scheduling, financial control, HSE compliance, and design to Lloyds Register Rules and liaising with topsides facilities and piping engineers.
