Accomplishment

Developed and implemented SPC program for 3M Europe. Savings of two million dollars ($2,000,000) have already been achieved. This project won the 1997 Specialty Material Division Team Quality Achievement Award.

Developed a Dynamic Process Control application that significantly reduced waste and increased profits for a Printing product in Europe. The Cpks of all the six quality characteristics improved by over 200%. This approached translated into one million dollars ($1,000,000) annual savings.

Provided statistical support to 3M filtration product. Designed and analyzed Faced Centered experiments used in optimizing filtration process. This approach resulted in $1.72 savings per unit with projected savings of $24,446 in 1997, $44,545 in 1998, $82,029 in 1999 and $165,000 in 2000.

Developed Multivariable sampling plans for 3M Healthcare in the Life Sciences Sector. This new approach significantly reduced the number of samples destructively tested by 75% and saved over $500,000 annually. The sampling plan has received divisional acclamation with IT Division Pyramid of Excellence Award as well as corporate recognition with Pollution Prevention Pays (3P) award. In addition, the plan was featured in the 3M Stemwinder and 3M Europe's Lab-IT News.

Supported 3M Corporate Optimized Operations team and improved product design for 3M Healthcare through series of designed experiments. These efforts reduced product variability significantly with potential savings of over $8,000,000 in 5 years.

Designed synchronized experiments for BS&CP that reduced the actual experimentation cost by $88,395.
