2004 (nov) – Commissioning System Engineer at Nuclear Power Plant – Unit # 2.

2004 - Mechanical Engineer at United Air Temp (Washington D.C. ) – Heating,
Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

1997 – 2004 – Mechanical System Engineer at Nuclear Power Plant.

Systems in my responsibilities:
-Pump House and Screen House
-Raw Service Water
-Condenser Cooling Water
-Spent Fuel Bay
-Back-up Cooling in case of loss Raw Service Water
-Freeze Ice Protection
-Isolations Batardeaux (Gate Valves)
-Siphon Basin
-Commutation Basin

Installation and putt in service following mechanical equipments:

-centrifugal pumps on the systems
-vertical electro-pumps (NMV-1000-RA with: 6kV, 750 rot/min, 1400kW, 2.65 mc/second)
-motorized valves (MV)
-pneumatic valves (PV)
-pressure control valves (PCV)
-temperature control valves (TCV)
-heat exchangers (with plates and tubs)
-automatic self cleaning filter
-valves on the pipelines

Installation and put in service following instrumentation equipments (in field, in MCR, Marconi, Novo Pignone):

-transmitters for various loops (level, pressure and temperature)
-differential pressure transmitters

(5) Main Projects

- Heating Distribution for Cernavoda Town

The project assurance the heat for all customers then Cernavoda town using steam produced in Nuclear Power Plant.

My responsibilities:
-preparation Work Plan in order to cover all the activities with must to be performed in the field;
-issue bill of materials;
-supervision of the field work performed by sub-contractor
-main activities: install first all heat exchangers and entire the pipelines(20 Km), install relief valves, supports, pumps, tanks for condenser recover, boilers for hot water;
-prepare the documentation for commissioning
-prepare the As Build and the Isometric lines for the pipes in the end

- Install of new steam distribution pipelines for Unit#2 and Unit#3.

My main duties were:
- Install two new pipelines for the preparation of hot water, required for Unit#2 and Unit#3.
- Install in field the main equipment havened the design: plate heat exchangers with water/steam
- Install the pipelines between the producer and costumers
- Install the element of the pipelines (valves, thermodynamically separator, supports, relief valves, condense tanks, energy contours)
- Prepare a Work Plan for installation, pressure test and turn-over activities.
- Prepare the Master Flowsheets for installation and operating instructions

- Preparation with Furmanite- England ice plug on 24" pipe (with two jackets on the pipe) with nitrogen liquid.(in this case I was assistant then NPP).

a)– Mathematic- Physics High school, FETESTI, Graduated in 1990
b)– Polytechnic Institute of Galati, Mechanical engineer speciality, graduated in 1995.
c)- Extensively trained within Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Training
Centre, 1997-2002.
d)- EPRI – Course for a Procurement Engineering - 2003.
e)- EOOS (Equipment Out of Service) – Course – 2004.
f)- AECL – Crevices corrosions – Course – 2004.
