April 2002 ¡V Present Operations Superintendent Amec
Employed as Operations Superintendent on the Exxon Mobil Kizomba ¡§A¡¨ Project. Duties include co-ordinating the production of Start-Up Procedures, Job Descriptions, Isolation Procedures, providing Operations Support/Advice for the Commissioning Team, reviewing Systems descriptions, reviewing Training Packages, attending Hazops and conducting Task Analyses for the equipment on the FPSO. Operations Lead in putting together Field Black Start and Field Initial Start-Up plans. Responsible for carrying out the Competency Assessments of the Operations Personnel on the Vessel.
April 1997 ¡V April 2002 Operations Supervisor Maersk Contractors
Promoted to Operations Supervisor on 1st April 1997 on the Shell Curlew Project. Leading a multi skilled Production and Maintenance team, duties onboard the vessel include being in charge of the safe production of oil (20000bbls/day at present rates, peaked at 41000bbls/day) and gas condensate (exporting 110mmscfd) from the Curlew reservoir, co-ordinating and controlling the Work Management and Permit to Work systems, initiating and carrying out the Company¡¦s competency assurance programme, maintaining a good working relationship with our clients and our shoreside support staff and co-ordinating "cross training" between Production, Marine and Maintenance personnel. I also cover for the Onshore Production Superintendent during vacation and/or sickness periods, this includes attending meetings with clients, vendors and co-ordinating between on and offshore operations.
Duties during the shipyard phase of the Project included co-ordinating the production of Start-up Procedures (this included both writing and reviewing them) and reviewing Operations Procedures Manuals, I was also involved in setting up the Work Management and Permit to Work systems (including the changeover from the shipyard permit system to ours) prior to starting pre-commissioning and commissioning work onboard the vessel. Commissioning work commenced onboard the vessel shortly after it arrived on location on 21st September 1997. Oil production commenced in November 1997 and Gas processing and exporting commenced in January 1998.
More recently (January ¡V April 2001) involved in the tie-in of the Kyle Field to the Maersk Curlew, as a member of the hook up/commissioning team. Part of my remit for this project was to produce the start-up procedure and to update the POPMs already in place.
Recently I have been involved in reviewing P&IDs and other documentation for the future White Rose Project in Canada and working in our Aberdeen office as part of our Operations Support Team.
Feb. 1997 - April 1997 Process Control Room Operator Maersk Contractors
Transferred to the Shell Curlew Project as a Process Control Room Operator during the shipyard phase in Wallsend, North Tyneside. Duties here included writing Start-up Procedures for the Production facilities onboard the FPSO "MAERSK CURLEW" and also reviewing the Operations Procedures Manuals.
June 1995 -Feb. 1997 Process Control Room Operator Maersk Contractors
Employed as a Process Control Room Operator onboard the FPSO "Nanhai Sheng Li" situated 110 nautical miles South East of Hong Kong in the Liuhua Field. In June 1995 I was assigned to the team based at the Jurong Shipyard in Singapore. Duties here included reviewing procedures, assisting in setting up the Reliability Controlled Maintenance (R.C.M.) system for the Project and also pre-commissioning and commissioning of the Process system onboard the vessel (in conjunction with Modec International). In February 1996 I was on the tow from Singapore to the Liuhua Field, during which the commissioning of the Process system was completed and we started training the Chinese National Trainee Operators. After arrival on location and start-up in March 1996 I was heavily involved in organising the training of the Operators up to and including Control room duties (this included bringing the Ex-pat Operators up to speed on C.R.O. duties). I was used as Relief Supervisor on a number of occasions both in Singapore and on location when the AMOCO Production Supervisors were on other duties.
April 1994 - May 1995 Process Control Room Operator O.P.S. Ltd.
Employed on the Sedco 707 in B.P.'s Machar Field as a Control Room Operator for the Production facility onboard. This job involved training Schlumberger personnel in Control Room duties as well as the general running of the Plant. Prior to taking over the Control Room duties I was involved in the commissioning of the Plant and co-ordinating the initial start-up.
Feb. 1982 - April 1994 Process Operator Chevron U.K. Ltd.
Joined the Company as an Assistant Process Operator and progressed to Senior Process Operator, appointed as a regular Relief Supervisor.
ľ Highly skilled in all disciplines of Process Plant Operations.
ľ Fully conversant with wellheads procedures including well testing, isolating for drilling and mechanical work, chemical injection and carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
ľ Monitoring crude oil separation facilities (both 2 phase and 3 phase) and controlling levels, pressures and temperatures both locally and from the Main Control Room to ensure produced water overboard meets Government parameters.
ľ Carrying out fiscal metering procedures including meter proving and taking pressurised samples for analysis.
ľ Controlling gas compression plant and gas export metering system including start-up and controlled shutdown methods.
ľ Ensuring efficient running of water injection system by analysing samples and initiating remedial actions.
ľ Safely launching and receiving pipeline pigs.
ľ Fully conversant with all aspects of Control Room functions including ESD panels, fire and gas panels, cause and effects charts, monitoring the whole of the plant on VDUs and gauges, general computer data recovery and inputting information for reports.
ľ Personally responsible for Permit to Work system as area operator, gas checker, control room issuing/receiving and Supervisor, including risk analysis.
ľ Appointed training supervisor and successfully trained a 12 man shift on the new equipment involved in processing gas and liquids from a satellite field including the control of subsea wells.
ľ Regularly involved in training new personnel and Contractors assigned to Chevron.
ƒæ Shutdown/Start-Up Co-ordinator on three occasions ¡V Main 36¡¨ Export Pig Trap Replacement, Complete Process Train inspection including vessel flushing and entries and Gas Compression Module ¡§mothballing¡¨ / tie-in of new module.
