1. Worked for the nine & half years in RAMA PETROCHEMICALS LTD., Patalganga, Dist.
Raigad as Process Operator from 11th April, 1991 to 26th Oct., 1999, in their 185 T.P.D.
METHANOL PLANT incorporating LURGI TECHNOLOGY OF WEST GERMANY. Also worked on DCS systems.
Process equipments Handled: -
Worked independently and handled the following equipments with their complete control systems:
Boilers: Waste Heat Recovery Boiler System, Total Steam Production is 30 T /HR.
Furnaces: Gas Fired Reforming Furnace, RADIANT BURNERWALL
TYPE FURNACE, HERSTELLER SALAS OF AMERICA
having 144 Side Burner & Gas Burners.
Distillation Columns: Distillation System, which is used for getting pure MENTHANOL from CRUDE METHANOL.RICH GAS REACTOR, which is used to crack
NAPHTHA Gas. CATALYST used is an ACTIVE NICKEL.
Reactors: DESULPHARISER REACTOR, RICH GAS REACTOR &
AQUA ISOTHERMAL REACTROR. DESULPHARISERREACTOR, which is used for removing sulphur from Raw Material NAPHTHA. REACTOR contains CATALYST
COMOX and ZINK OXIDE.
Heat Exchangers: Various types of heat Exchangers were handled in the plant.
Storage Tanks: Floating Roof, Atmospheric Tanks.
Instruments: Worked on TAYLOR, HONEYWELL, FOXBORO etc made instruments for various process variables such as Temperature,Flow,Pressure,Level & Quality etc with Safety device of Trip & Alarm systems.
Running Equipments/Machines Operated:
Pumps: Various Types of pumps such as Centrifugal Single & Multi-stage,
Reciprocating Pumps, Screw Pumps.
Compressors: NUOVO-PIGNONE Centrifugal Gas Compressor (Multistage with Internal guidance Vane), Reciprocating Air
Compressor used for Instrument Air & Utility Air Supply.
Steam Turbines: High Speed & High Pressure Steam Turbine of Type EK-600/2 has driven centrifugal Gas Compressor. The type of Turbine is IMPULSE-REACTION Type. The capacity of steam turbine power Generator is to produce 900 KW power.
Thoroughly conversant with Startup and shutdown of equipment like Centrifugal Gas Compressor, Steam Turbine Power Generator, Gas/Oil Fired Reforming Furnace with Waste Heat Recovery Boiler System etc.
Worked on Raw Water System having PRESSURE SAND FILTER, COOLING
TOWER, DEMINERALISED WATER PLANT.
2. Working with "IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) Refinery" Barauni, Bihar as
Commissioning Operator.
Project: Hydrogen Generation Unit under DHDS (Diesel Hydrodesulphurisation) Project.
Capacity: 34,000 MTPY
Technology: Haldoor Topsoe Technology from Denmark.
Feed Stock: Naphtha.
Job: Involved in Commissioning & Stabilization of the Plant, Monitoring with Process Parameters, Charging Utility Headers, Purging & Lining Up Flare Headers, Pressure test of loops using start-up loops by nitrogen & purging the loops with nitrogen, Conversion with start-up, Shut-down & Troubleshooting. Handing over Equipments to Maintenance Jobs.Conversent with Permit to work system, Fire Fighting H2S Hazards.
Key Units: Hydrodesulphuriser, Pre Reformer, Steam Reformer including
Covered Flue Gas Waste heat Recovery & Process Waste Heat Boiler
System, BFW Deaerator.
3. Worked in "HPCL REFINERY, Mahul, Mumbai." As a Process Operator from
13th Nov. 1999 to 10th May,2000.
Project: Hydrogen Generation Unit under DHDS (Diesel Hydrodesulphurisation)
Project. 14,500 MTPY H2 is produced, incorporating Haldoor Topsoe
Technology from Denmark.
Job:
Pre-commissioning Air blowing, punch listing, test pack clearance,
Vessel Inspection, Catalyst Loading of Pre-reformer, reformer & reactors,
Motor solo Run, pump and air blower coupled with motor run, leak testing, stroke checking of control vlaves etc.
Commissioning Charging Utility headers, purging and lining up flare headers, refractory of reformer, super heater dryout, pressure test of loops using start up loops by nitrogen, and purging the loops with nitrogen, feed stock cut in parameters controlled from Tata Honeywell DCS. Project is already successfully commissioned and H2 produced and sends to DHDS for removing sulphur from Diesel.
Have experience of handling following unit:
1. Predesulphurisation section (PDS) in which max. of 1000ut. ppm of Sulphur removed from naphtha feed in which Naphtha deaerator for removing Oxygen from raw Naphtha.
2. Naphtha Superheater in which naphtha heated for further reaction.
3. Naphtha Hydrotreater in which hydrogenation of sulphur compounds takes place with help of catalyst TK-550.
4. Hydrogen Sulphide Stripper which plate type column stripped out Hydrogen Sulphide from naphtha feed.
5. Naphtha surge drum required for storage of pds naphtha and then sends for FDS.
6. Final Naphtha Hydrotreater (FDS section) in which remaining ppm of sulphur and chlorine are completely removed from naphtha feed with the help of 3 reactors-a) Hydrogenator having cobalt molybdenum-oxide hydrogenation catalyst, b) Reactor of chlorine absorption catalyst and c) Reactor of zn oxide sulphur absorption catalyst (HTZ3)
7. Reformer in which the hydrocarbons are reacted with steam over nickel catalyst. Reformer is Radiant Burner Wall type furnance having 108 side fired Burner and 60 tubes of high alloy Cr. Ni steel. Catalyst R-67-7H (Nickel).
8. Pre-reformer is reactor used to crack Naphtha gas-Catalyst used is RKNGR(MGO), Waste heat recovery boiler system, ID and FD fans soeed controlled by damper adjustment and variable motor speed.
9. MT-Shift convertor in which Co conversion takes place. Catalyst is LK-811, CO converts to Carbon dioxide and Hydrogen.
10. Pressure Swing Adsoption (PSA) in which pure Hydrogen separated by adsorption of other gases and sends for desulphurisation of diesel in DHDS plant.
11. And also handling two stage reciprocating compressors for recycling hydrogen to PDS, FDS and reforming section, for Nitrogen filing and emergency hydrogen, Made by Rand Ingersole, Two Centrifugal Motor Driven Compressor for start up procedure. And thoroughly conversant with start up and shut down activities, emergency shut downs and trouble-shooting etc.
12. Also experienced of activities such as Recording KEY plant operating data at regular intervals during shifts, making adjustment to the plant in accordance with standard operating procedures or as directed from the control room.
I am completely conversant with Pneumatic Panel Operation.
