* Planned and executed barge move operations in the capacity of Barge Master for Brunei Shell during the 2004 and 2005 Summer Topside Maintenance Campaign in order to meet tight shut down schedules.
* Supervised and managed offshore heavy lift platform installation, pipelay and sub-sea installation operations for Sarawak Shell Berhad's Jintan, Serai and B-11 projects in the capacity of Company Site Representative.
* Assisted in developing Marine Operations Safety Case for Sarawak Shell in order to ensure all safety critical operations and Hazard Register are identified and maintained. In addition attained the Diploma in Safety from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (R.O.S.P.A) Birmingham, U.K. during this period.
* Focal point for Logistics Cost Leadership initiatives in Marine and Aviation Operations in the capacity of Logistics Senior Discipline Expert in Sarawak Shell. Cost savings of MYR 500K per annum were achieved through these initiatives.

Carried out duties as Barge Master on a Heavy Lift Construction Barge employing a construction spread of 200-290 personnel.
Provided ad-hoc berthing and loading Master services for FSO operations.
Projects undertaken included:
Heavy Lift Operations for Brunei Shell Summer Campaign-2004, 2005 and 2006 at Champion, Ampa and Fairley Fields.
Sub sea pipeline repair at Champion Field for Brunei Shell.
2005 Coiled tubing and well stimulation Campaign and acidisation operations at Ampa field for Brunei Shell.
Provision of berthing and loading master services on an ad-hoc basis for Talisman Energy at Angsi FSO-Offshore South China Sea.

* The above projects required managing and controlling all operational and marine operations on Accommodation Hook-up and Heavy Lift Construction barge. All barge move operations were planned and executed in pipeline congested locations which required complicated anchor patterns and compliance to strict anchor handling requirements. All operations and movements of support vessels required to be managed and monitored to ensure safety of overall marine operations.
* Heavy lift operations were carried out which required the offshore Heavy Lift Barge to provide a safe and stable platform in order to ensure successful positioning of modules in congested locations.
* Berthing and loading master services were also provided on an ad-hoc basis for the Angsi FSO for Talisman Energy. This required berthing to be carried out in open sea conditions in the South China Sea and quite often in marginal sea conditions.

Responsible for the berthing and loading operations at Single Buoy Mooring Loading Terminals.
Managed all front line operations on Engineering Construction Barges in the capacity as Company Site Representative.
Tasks and Projects undertaken included:
* Berthing and loading of VLCCs to Single Buoy Moorings (SBMs) at the Miri, Bintulu and Labuan Crude Oil Terminals. Tankers were required to be berthed and loaded in a timely and safe manner to ensure tankers were dispatched within the required laytime.
* Planning and execution of offshore drilling rig and engineering barge movements in support of the drilling and engineering departments respectively. Rig types included Jack Ups, Semi-submersibles and drilling tenders. Engineering barge types included topside maintenance and heavy lift installation and pipe lay barges.
* Pre-mobilisation inspections of offshore support vessels ranging from heavy lift crane barges to engineering work boats and anchor handling tugs. This required both operational and HSE inspections to be carried out so that all offshore support vessels met the required technical specifications and were fit for purpose.
* Company Site Representative on offshore engineering barges responsible for managing all operational and marine aspects of offshore platform and pipe lay operations for the following projects:
- Central Luconia M4 sub-sea well tie-in and sub-sea umbilical rectification.
- Co-ordination of pipe lay operations in Central Luconia Field-Offshore Sarawak.
- Installation of offshore jacket and platform structures at the Jintan and B-11 Gas Fields- offshore Sarawak.
- Rig Support during well abandonment operations at the Baram Field.
- Decommissioning and removal of the Ketam Mini Production Platform.
- Serai pipe lay and sub-sea well tie-in operations – Offshore Sarawak.

* Development of Sarawak Shell's Logistics Competency Standards and Assessment Program in the capacity as Logistics Senior Discipline Expert. This included development of Job Competency Profiles with the support of the Team Leaders from the Marine, Aviation and Warehousing and Supply Base Operations.

* Co-ordinated Cost Leadership activities within the Logistics Department by reviewing existing marine vessel contracts and optimizing usage of marine vessels amongst the various user departments and farming out excess capacity to other related operating units. Cost savings of MYR 500K per annum were achieved in Marine and Aviation Operations.

Logistics Senior Discipline Expert-Sarawak Shell-Malaysia

Focal point for all Marine Health and Safety issues within the Sarawak Oil Business Unit. Projects undertaken included:
* Development of HSE Case for the Bintulu Terminal including marine operations for the Single Buoy Loading Terminal. All safety critical operations were identified and an appropriate Hazard Register developed.

1994 – 1996
Senior Marine Operations Supervisor-Sarawak Shell-Malaysia

Team Leader responsible for the provision of rig move services for the Drilling and Engineering departments. Projects undertaken included:
* Planning and execution of offshore drilling rig and engineering barge movements in support of the drilling and engineering departments respectively. During the M1 and M3 offshore platform installation and drilling programmes in 1996, engineering barges and drilling rigs were required to be positioned simultaneously which required careful planning and execution of moves in order to safe positioning of mobile units.
* Planning and co-ordination of all drilling rig, engineering barge and workboat movements, covering a sea area of over 800 km involving rig types ranging from Jack-Ups to Semi-submersibles. This included the development and review of marine and safety specifications of all drilling rigs and engineering barges for final approval by the Marine Manager.

* Development and implementation of an on-line inspection database for all support vessel which improved efficiency of inspection and the follow-up and rectification of defects with offshore support vessel contractors.

1992 – 1994
Senior Analyst Buyer-Procurement Department-Sarawak Shell-Malaysia

Responsible for maintaining the Company inventory levels for safety and rotating equipment through analysis of consumption patterns. Projects undertaken included:
* Development of contract strategy and establishment of tender documents for the purchase of long lead critical rotating equipment, including turbines, crude oil transfer pumps and compressors. Part of work responsibilities included maintaining inventory of rotating equipment and safety equipment worth 5M Ringgit. Inventory control included the management of approximately 3000 rotating and safety spare part line items to meet offshore operational needs.

1987 – 1992
Marine Training And Safety Supervisor-Sarawak Shell-Malaysia

Focal point for the marine safety training for all Logistics staff. Projects undertaken included:
* Development of formal worksite Unsafe Act Audit Scheme for the Logistics Department. This included the training of Logistics management and front-line personnel in proper Unsafe Act Auditing techniques.

* Development of annual Safety and Environmental Plans and Action Plans together with respective Team Leaders. This included regular compilation of status reports to monitor completion of safety action items and achievement of safety performance targets.

1984 – 1987

Responsible for the safe execution of tanker and rig move operations. Duties included:
