BACKGROUND SUMMARY / QUALIFICATIONS

Extensive 22 years experience in the petrol-chemical industry, with 20 years as a level 1 foreman in the Electrical Control Department of a Steam and Power Plant. Have acquired supervisory experience supervising unionized workers in the electrical distribution field of a large petrol-chemical plant. Received extensive training from the Electrical Utilities Safety Association and from the Ontario Hydro's Municipal Operator training course. At my own expense and significant cost ($8500), I recently acquired certifications as an Electrical Engineering Technician through OACETT, Journeyman Electrical Control Operator from the Electricity Distributors Association, and an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Education Direct. Presently taking a second Associate Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from Education Direct.

SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS

* Implemented a two-way radio system for Bayer's Steam and Power Plant.
* Designed the layout of the Electrical Control Operations room for the S&PP at Bayer.
* Designed forms for readings and tests such as: High-Pot test sheet, Phasing Sheet, & Electrical reading log sheet.
* Implemented the forms electronically onto Excel or Word to reduce printing costs.
* Set up monthly inspection lists, both hardcopy and electronically for all electrical distribution substations.
* Designed electronically, departmental Health & safety Inspection and Safety Audit checklist forms.
* Designed emergency call-out list for all electrical substations and the emergency command center.
* Through the Continuous Improvement Program – suggested and implemented that reflective strips be sown onto work parkas for better visibility.
* Completed a two-year, four-semester Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology by correspondence in just two years. Normal completion times 12 to 18 months per semester.
