Duties, Responsibility and Key Responsibilities
As Safety Advisor / Medic / Permit Co-ordinator I was responsible to the OIM for:

o Promoting the safety culture through safety meetings, tool box talks etc.
o Advising line Management on implementation of scope of work practices and precautions.
o Carrying out necessary safety assessments including auditing of SMS systems i.e. PTW
o Implementing and carrying out the Safety Maintenance Programme o Assisting project Personnel onshore/offshore on the development of safety requirements, JSA, procedures etc o Co-ordinating the Permit to Work system, Controlling/monitoring and issuing permits and updating permit display board.
o Maintaining Fire fighting, Safety and Emergency equipment.
o Managing and controlling isolation/de-isolation certificates and complying with company isolation policy. Adequate records must be kept and updated as required.
o Controlling confined space entry certificates. Gas tests must be carried out.
o Controlling key lockout box system. Log must be kept up to date.
o Maintaining and issuing portable gas detectors. Control gas detector logbook.
o Training of Personal in SMS, Permit to Work, Confined space entry, STOP training o Facilitating Safety meetings, risk assessments, area inspections, Accident/incident investigations etc.
o Assisting management the onboard safety related training.
o Managing the routine Emergency Exercise Programme, Planning and co-ordinating of Weekly Safety Drills.
o Routine Maintenance of safety and life saving equipment and relevant documentation o Audit and inspect site in order to ascertain level of compliance with health and Safety requirements.
o Monitor and control all personal protective clothing required as well as placing orders if and when required.
o Attend and represent Company at Client Safety Meetings.
o Induction of all new Personnel.
o Departure safety briefings.
o HSE daily, Weekly and Monthly Reports.
o Provide trauma and primary health care onboard.
o Medication ordering and issuing and maintenance of emergency equipment for the hospital onboard.
o Ensure all accidents and incidents are recorded, reported and investigated and that corrective action is taken as a means of
Preventing the same incident / accident happening.
