I have been working in a computerized environment for the past 15 years and have been using various packages required in my day to-day job performance. Well versed in MS OFFICE applications (EXCEL, WORD etc), e-mail (OUTLOOK and OUTLOOK EXPRESS), Internet etc. My current employer has implemented SAP as the ERP package and I have exposure in this for the past three years.

WORK HISTORY:

I am working with BHARAT PETROLEUM CORPORATION LIMITED since 1988 immediately on completion of my Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I was posted in various Terminals and other facilities of BPCL for the past over 15 years and the following indicates my work history. Currently, I am posted at COCHIN, KERALA (STATE), SOUTH INDIA.

TERMINAL OPERATIONS:

* Loading / Discharge of ocean tankers.

- Arranging berthing / sailing of tankers in close co-ordination with the operations in-charge.
- Plan loading / discharge schedule, ensure suitability of the tanker tanks for the cargo to be loaded, co-ordinate tanker loading operations as loading master at jetty end in co-ordination with the shore terminal, estimate the pumping schedule / quantity to avoid dead freight for the draft to which the vessel is loaded etc.
- Tanker documentation before and after operations such as ship-shore safety checklist, loading / discharge program, tank inspection with the help of surveyor, time sheet, statement of facts, ullage / quantity calculations, bill of lading, protests if any etc.
- Quality Control (QC) activities during tanker operations as laid down in the quality control manual.
- Arrange tank gauging, pipeline lining up and other requirement at terminal end and ensure smooth operations as shore officer in close co-ordination with the loading master.
- Arrange bunker requirements of vessels if covered in the charter party agreement.
- Proper liaison with the ship personnel and proper adherence to the charter party terms.
- Ensure efficient operations from shore end without delays so as to achieve best commercial results.

* Tank & Pipeline Operations

- Nominate the tanks for receipt and service considering the operational requirements for the day.
- Ensure proper lining up for various operations.
- Adherence to QC activities as stipulated in the QC manual.
- Receipt of Pipe Line Transfer (PLT) from refinery / other terminals.
- Ensure specified inventory in the storage tanks.
- Tank wise / Product wise stock accounting on a daily basis.
- Managing the workmen to achieve maximum productivity.
* Product Dispatch by Road

- Plan & execute the indents of retail outlets and upcountry depots using the tank lorry fleet.
- Ensure equitable mileage to tank trucks.
- Supervise truck-loading operations.
- Ensure special QC requirements of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF).
- Managing the workmen / TT crew to achieve maximum efficiency.

MATERIALS MANAGEMENT (Terminal / Plant / Retail outlets)

* Material Procurement.

- Procurement of various operational / maintenance items required for the user functions.
- Vendor development / enlistment for various materials.
- Tendering for purchase of major items, its evaluation / finalization, contract / purchase orders, repeat orders etc.
- Negotiation with the vendors.
- Finalize Annual Rate Contract (ARC) for items of high consumption.

* Warehouse Management.

- Ensure proper / safe receipt of materials as per purchase orders.
- Storage of materials in an easily retrievable manner.
- Efficient inventory management to ensure optimum stock of materials in the warehouse at any time.
- Dispatch of materials based on the indents received from users.

ENGINEERING ACTIVITIES (Terminal / Retail outlets)

* Contract management.

- Enlistment of contractors for various jobs.
- Preparation of tender documents and floating tenders for various jobs.
- Evaluation of tenders, preparation of work orders / contracts / agreements, execution etc.
- Negotiation with the contractors whenever required.
- Preparation of Schedule of Rates (SOR) for works of repetitive nature to avoid frequent tendering for similar jobs.
- Payment to contractors and other required documentation on completion of works.

* Construction / Maintenance of petroleum retail outlets.

- Planning the layouts of Retail Outlets suitable to the market / site.
- Supervision of construction of facilities at the outlets.
- Maintenance planning and execution at retail outlets.
- Inventory / Spare management to make sure the down time of the equipment to the minimum.

* Assets Management.

- Capitalization of assets put to use so as to ensure availing the depreciation benefits, as applicable, on time.
- Identify surplus / redundant materials and relocate / dispose of the same after approvals from the authorities concerned.

- Renewal of various statutory licenses whenever the same fall due.
