I have over 12 years of work experience in Chemical manufacturing industry in various strategic operational & Technical position. My work profile has the sound backing of excellent educational background. I am a Chemical Engineer + ICWA + LLB. In order to enhance my ability to contribute further in industry I have recently completed my Masters in Management from Asian Institute of Management, Philippines. (June 2003 to May 2004)

In my last assignment I was the Plant Manager with Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd, (RCF) with responsibility for Production Management, Inventory Management Production Optimization and Cost Control.

Plant Manager - Ammonia Plant (April 2000 to May 2003)
RCF is a largest fertilizer manufacturer in India with sales turn over Rs. 2500 Cr. The Ammonia plant (2 x1600 MTPD) is a biggest Ammonia producing unit in the Asia-pacific region. It is a gas and naphtha mixed feed plant with a technology from Haldor Topsoe, Denmark.
I have joined RCFL as a Management Trainee & grew up to Plant Manager's Position. In my tenure with RCFL as a Plant Manager I was responsible for Man Management, Production Management, Inventory Management, Production Optimization and Cost Control. During my tenure as a Plant Manager we could reduce the energy by 15 %
Highlights:
* Managed major plant and staff with accountability for operations, maintenance, costs and performance. (Assets of Rs. 900 CRORES (USD 180 Million) and 336 staff.)
* Executed Technical/Energy audits and evaluated operational performance. Technical audit was the first concise effort in the plant History. Energy audit was a learning experience to every body (including me) changing mindset about common practices. Recommendations led to cost reduction and manpower improvement programs.
* Evaluated viability of major capital projects (Leading to cost saving) which were approved constructed and successfully run. Actively participated in de-bottlenecking of Ammonia Plants (From 1350 MTPD to 1600 MTPD) and commissioning of NFSS (Naphtha Feed Supplementary Scheme)
* being a member of plant Safety Committee I was successful to create safety awareness among my sub-ordinates and operating staff.
* Developed quality groups, Prepared and Published Technical wall magazine "QUEST" for 4 years. This has proved to be extremely useful to every person appearing for departmental interview. I tried to define cost benefit analysis of every activity in the plant thereby generating cost consciousness among operating staff. I prepared a simulation model showing effect of various action on the end cost of the product. This helped in optimizing cost of product at different set of conditions.
* Facilitated various Quality Circles in Ammonia Plant. Encouraged Q.C. members to give various recommendations. Took personal initiative to get these suggestions implemented.

* Daily/monthly Production planning / production Management Cost Control inventory management.
* Responsible for employee's knowledge enrichment program.
* Responsible for driving the house keeping initiatives as a part of ISO 14001
* Responsible for process Optimization.
* Responsible for start-up/shutdown activities.
* Responsible for driving technical competencies development for employees.
* Co-ordination with other departments for day-to-day, annual (preventive and predictive) maintenance activities.
* External communication with external agencies like MPCB, MSEB, GAIL, and ONGC.

Project At AIM, Philippines:
As a part of AIM Project, I have formulated a Corporate Strategy for Rohm and Haas, Philippines Inc. It is a subsidiary of Rohm and Haas a specialty materials company, with annual sales revenue of more than US$ 6.4billion.
Based on my recommendations for Long term strategy RHPI top management has decided to explore the possibility of expansion of plant capacity and change of Location. As per their request I coordinated the activities of the executive committees formed for this purpose and came out with a Business plan for next 10 years.
During this exercise I did benchmarking with the competitors detailed financial analysis, variance analysis of various parameters, tried to standardize the parameters at a set of conditions, sales projections, evaluation of various project options and finally project profitability analysis. This was really good experience working with a team of top executives from a multinational company for last one year.
After coming back to India in June 2004 I have taken up small assignments to suggest process improvement based on lean manufacturing concept to some chemical companies.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES:
conducted more than 100 Career counseling program during the period 1992-2000.
As a part of Master of Management program, I took a Leadership walk about project "Teaching effective methods in Math "to 375 Math Teachers in Manila Philippines. I taught them various methods I am using for speed computatations I won Dean's award for Best Walk about of the Year for this project.
