It is used for controlling the movements of the Crane. The Movements like Main Hoist,
Auxiliary Hoist, and the corresponding Up and Down Movements. The System is hooked up with the Remote Operated Pendant, which Communicates via RS-232 Link. The Signals like
Up, Down, Right, Left, Forward, Reverse are sent through this Link which in turn is received by the SMART I/O System which is also known as Micro-PLC. The Digital Outputs are
Correspondingly switched ON based on the Signals Received. Thus the Required Movements are Achieved.

Abstract:
The Computer based Data Acquisition and Control System will be used to conduct the
Thermo Vacuum performance test and Thermal Balance Test On Space Crafts in the 4M
Thermo Vacuum Chamber. The main function of the system are to Monitor Temperature using T-type Thermocouple (512 T/C Channels) and control of DC Programmable Power
Supplies.
The System is divided into three main Units viz. Thermocouple Signal Processing Unit
(TSPU), Power and Control Unit (PACU) and Data Processing Unit (DPU).
The Hardware part of the TSPU & PACU was completely handled by me.

The Power Manipulator is meant for lifting radioactive blocks in a Nuclear Environment &
then drills holes through the same.
This consists of a Robotic arm with seven Hall-Encoder feedback Motors for moving the arm in the required Direction.
The project was developed in such a way so as to enable it to be Operated in a Nuclear
Environment.
The entire Robotic arm is controlled by a hand held Pendant. The PLC used was SMART BASE
with I/O Modules like SM-DIN & SM-DOUT.
07. Academic Project – PC to PC Wireless Military Communication using Frequency
Modulation at 100 MHz and Microwave Transmission at 9 Ghz
Abstract:
This Project makes two Computers communicate by making use of Wireless media and hence eliminating the cable. Data Security on the wireless link is provided by the various
Cryptographic systems like Rail-Fence Cipher, Caesar Cipher, and Poly-Alphabetic Cipher &
Modern Transposition Cipher by Software. The Sender is provided with an option to select between the above four Algorithms and transmits the encoded data into the Free space. The
Receiver receives the encrypted message and inputs the secret key in order to get the original message. All the above said Communication between the two Computers is through
Free space with VHF at 100MHz & MICROWAVES at 9GHz.
This Project won the first prize in the final year project exhibition.
