I have been Located throughout Europe, North and West Africa, North America, Asia, Middle East and Australasia. I have worked on Semi Submersibles, Drill-ships, Jack-ups, Platform drilling and land rigs.
I have been an expatriate and remained overseas since March 1987. My objectives since starting my career in the oil industry have always been to gain as much experience and knowledge in as many diverse areas as possible.

February 2006 – Present Roc Oil Company Ltd. Australia, Angola, China
Consultant Drilling Engineer / Drilling Supervisor / Drilling Manager
* Senior Drilling Supervisor, based in Shekou, China. Draft and send out ITT's for all third party services, contractors. Evaluate tenders and submit recommendations to ROC Oil GM. Draft and send out RFS's. General drilling engineering / planning prior to rig arrival. Commissioned rig in Singapore. On rig arrival, went to location aboard Premium Murmanskaya rig as Senior Drilling Supervisor.
* Angola Operations Drilling Manager, based in Luanda I was brought in to manage building lease roads and rig sites prior to bringing in two land rigs for ROC's operations. This included managing the packing of the ROC OIL owned rig, Explorer, in the UK and shipping into Cabinda. Also imported to Angola the Simmons-80 rig from Dubai. Constructing contracts and sending out ITT's to all third party contractors for all services required for a two rig operation. Tender evaluation and recommendations to ROC Oil GM and Sonangol Concessionaire. Liaising with Sonangol Concessionaire on all contractual issues and timing updates. Presented drilling schedule and drilling budget to OCM for final approval.
* Senior Drilling Supervisor on the ROC Oil Explorer / Simmons-80 land rigs, Angola. The rigs were positioned close to Cabinda and involved drilling vertical and directional wells to TD, logging and testing wells.
* Senior Drilling Supervisor on the Premium Wilcraft rig, Perth Basin, WA. Included moving jack-up onto location, drilling, logging and P&A well. Move to new location.
* Night Drilling Supervisor on the COSL rig 931 working offshore Zhanjiang, South China. Involved drilling an exploration well, Extensive logging program, DST and the drilling of two subsequent sidetracks off the original well including 90m of coring on the 1st sidetrack and a full P&A program.
* Night Drilling Supervisor on the Ensco-67 working on the Cliff Head project, Perth Basin, WA. The Cliff Head project consists of 4 horizontal and 1 slant duel string completion production wells and two slant water injection wells. SIMOPS with diving support vessel and Cliff Head Platform were managed throughout this campaign.
* Drilling Engineer in ROC Oil's office in Sydney when not on the rig. Working on ROC Oil's projects in China, WA and Angola.

* 2 years North Sea experience, including long reach horizontal (8 Km), multi-lateral wells and all other aspects of Directional Drilling.
* 3 years West Africa including Congo, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Angola & Algeria. Experience included all aspects of Directional Drilling. Also worked in Bogotá, Columbia doing rock strength analysis for BP, due to BP having major issues with formation failure due to tectonic stress. Involved in the development and testing of the T.R.A.C.S adjustable stabilizer at the Halliburton Research & Development facility in Houston.
* In 1994, attended courses in advanced directional drilling, well planning, drillstring design, torque & drag, stuck pipe and augmented BHA design.
