The Ammonia plant revamped by PIDL, Sindri, India &Urea Plant by (Hec) Urea Casale S.A, Switzerland in the year 2002.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Working as Assistant Engineer/Panel /Field Operations in Ammonia synthesis plant in the DCS (Honeywell) panel and field operations of all sections of desulphurization, catalytic reforming,CO2 removal, synthesis reactor, refrigeration, ammonia storage, PLC controlled Reciprocating & Centrifugal gas & air Compressors, and in the Start-up, shutdown and troubleshooting. Co-operating with maintenance team for handing over the equipment, Testing after maintenance is over and lining up of equipments, Preparing and reporting of production reports and work Schedule, Issuing work permits for both cold and hot maintenance works and supervising the work with adequate safety measures.
Utilities Experience:
Experience had in job rotation in Utilities such as Raw Water & Potable Water System, DM plant, Reverse Osmosis Plant, Boilers, Refrigeration system, Fire Water system, Captive Power plant, CW treatment system and Inst. Air Compressor Filters & Dryers System, Steam distribution.

Process Details of NLC Fertilizer Plant:
Low Sulphur Heavy Stock oil is used as the raw material. After partial oxidation and combustion raw feed gas is produced. Sulphur and other acid gases are removed in Desulphurisation unit using K¬2 CO3 and DEA as absorbing agents. Sulphur removed gas is passed through iron oxide catalysts at 500ºC, for conversion of CO to CO2 using shift gas reaction, converted gas undergoes decarbonation process where CO2 and H2 are separated using K¬2 CO3 and DEA as absorbing agents. H2 is sent for caustic wash to remove CO2 to avoid formation of solid ice in downstream plant. CO2 is passed through activated carbon to remove sulphur and sent to urea plant.
N2 and H2 is compressed in 1:3 ratios at a pressure of 250 kg/cm2 and passed through catalytic reactors (Fe2O3) where ammonia synthesis reaction takes place at 380ºC and ammonia gas is passed for refrigeration to liquefy and stored in Horton spheres. NH3 reacts with CO2 at 180ºC and 180 kg/cm2 to form Urea.
