M/s Andhra Petrochemicals Limited, Visakhapatnam, India is a low pressure OXO - ALCOHOLS PLANT having Honeywell TDC 3000 DCS system, TDC 3000 DCS system recently changed Honeywell EXPERION pks, designed by M/s Davy McKee Limited, England, which produces 42000 MMTPA Oxo Alcohols (2 Ethyl Hexanol, N-Butanol and I-Butanol) with naphtha and propylene as raw materials, consists of synthesis gas plant, aldehyde plant, alcohol plant and utilities.
Steam methane reforming produces synthesis gas (CO+H2), High purity Hydrogen achieved through pressure swing adsorption.Syngas is reacts with propylene gives aldyhydes in the oxo reactor and then finally produces alcohols by the vapor phase hydrogenation. These alcohols are distillated and separated in to 2 EH and Butanols.
Experience Profile:
Having experience as a Field operator / DCS operator in SYNGAS (CO+H2) AND HYDROGEN PRODUCTION PLANT consists of naphtha hydrodesulphurization, adiabatic and steam-methane reforming, acid gas recovery - benefield process, hydrogen PSA unit and compressors. Presently working as a Field operator and Panel operator for Naphtha based synthesis gas and Hydrogen production plant, Sulphur recovery unit, Steam methane reforming,PSA unit. Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Experience in New Expansion Petrochemical Plant.
Naphtha Storage: Unloading of naphtha into floating roof tanks blanketing with Nitrogen.

Naphtha Hydro Desulphurization: Consists of Fired heater, COMOX reactor and ZnO catalyst beds to remove H2S in the feed stock naphtha up to 0.2 ppm from 300 ppm.

Adiabatic Reforming: It consists of ICI katalco NiO catalyst which produces 55% of Methane rich gas at 4500C ¡V 5100C in the cracked rich gas reactor.

Steam Methane Reforming: It is tubular steam methane reformer consists NiO catalyst tubes operating at 15 ksc / 8600C produces hydrogen and carbon monoxide, with top fired, balanced draught co-current firing furnace.

Acid gas removal system: CO2 removed by K2CO3 solution up to 0.5 ppm through a Ben field process which consists of absorber and regenerator.

Hydrogen PSA Unit: UOP supplied 4 beds PSA unit produces 99.9% purity hydrogen having 2400 kg/hr capacity.

Reciprocating Compressors: Ingressol Rand supplied reciprocating compressors 3 stages CO Compressor, 2-stage double acting synthesis gas compressor and recycle CO2 & H2 compressors.

Centrifugal Compressors: BHEL supplied multistage centrifugal compressors with seal oil and lube oil systems.
