Company's Direct Reduction Plant at Mesaieed, Qatar

This is a Natural gas based chemical plant. Producing Sponge Iron, By H2O and CO2 reforming in the present of nickel catalyst. CO and H2 is act as reductant in this process. Its design capacity is 54 tons per hour and has exceeded its capacity to 105 tons per hour. It is rated as one of the best DR Plants in the world, which is achieved by the best skills of operational techniques. Midrex commissioned & new HBI & DRI plant in Qatar steel last year
Nature of Job
Monitoring and Controlling of the Direct Reduction Plant based on Midrex Process for the Production of Sponge Iron. The process is operated With Siemen's AS-235 and PCS-7 systems in DCS.

The job involves operating the plant from the Control Room using the DCS system. Responsible for optimizing the plant parameters for the maximum productivity while keeping the process and equipment at its safe limitations. The job also involves monitoring various instruments of temperatures, pressures, flows and analyzers. Responsible for the operation and monitoring of all field equipments like blowers, pumps, compressors, vessels, valves, furnace, and reformer for their safe operation and attain the highest productivity.
Participated in the various troubleshooting exercise in the day to day plant operations. Attended three capital repairs in the plant. Performed as a team leader and achieved the various repair tasks during capital repairs within the stipulated time frame and man-hours.

To transaction the row material and production in ERP.
Management reporting. Good knowledge about mechanical drawing.
