This plan covered personnel resources, hardware and software required for the elaboration of the proposal, time schedules, and job coordination with Accounting, Legal, Operations, QHSE departments in Schlumberger.
„± Present to the Schlumberger Management the bid package for approval and/or changes and then submit it to the client. Then follow-up until the job was awarded.
Service Quality Manager (South Geo-Market, Villahermosa, Mexico, 2000-2001)
Selected to resolve critical service quality (SQ) issues across Mexico, South and Central America that were resulting in contract losses, lost time, re-do work and negative cash flow issues. Coached managers one-to-one, trained more than 250 employees in industry specific service quality courses, and successfully lobbied management for $250,000 for individual and plant performance incentives.
„± Combined strategies successfully transitioned all facilities to a SQ culture as a ¡* way of living¡¨, resulting in 15% revenue improvement, reduction in lost time by 35%, and acquisition of two new contracts (El Salvador and Guatemala) from a leader competitor.
Operations Manager (Ciudad del Carmen Campeche, Mexico, 1996-1999)
Directed the business, finance and operations for all services provided offshore Mexico. (150-200 employees), generating 85% of the oil production, in the country. With full budgetary and P&L accountability, drove all aspects including operations, asset management, service quality, health and environment, safety, HR, sales and marketing, bidding, and client relationship management.
„± Led an aggressive competitive bid, and negotiated and won a major stimulation, Nitrogen and acid contract with initial contract value of $500,000. Including EOR, and fracturing.
„± Developed and presented to senior management a business plan, with competitive market study and cost/benefit analysis, to construct numerous new on- and offshore facilities. Capital expenditure was approved and the mud plant, nitrogen plant and working boats were completed on time, within budget.
„± During this period, improved monthly revenue to $3 million and increased margins from 21% to 34%. Team earned the corporate Safety and Service Quality award, and qualified for 100% of the performance bonus for each of the three years.
„± Assigned to work in the start-up of the Integrated Project Management Services IPM (LNG) for the development of the Burgos Basin in the North of Mexico. The IPM team, was in charge of the whole job, since drilling the well, till the NG produced was sent to the gathering station. This project was for Pemex North District, and the drilling time was lowered as well as the time to put the wells in production, all this obviously represented less cost per well to Pemex.
Marketing Manager (Zulia Maracaibo, Venezuela, 1994-1996)
With a $3 million marketing budget, and a 12-member sales and marketing team, created and implemented selling schemes, marketing strategies and promotional client events for the region. Region encompassed 5 stations across the country, 2500 employees and $60 million annual revenue.
„± Implemented the first formal ¡* account management¡¨ structure, which provided ¡* sole source¡¨ support to key accounts and strengthened business relationships. Effort improved sales with existing accounts 10% (PDVSA, Shell Oil and Mobil Oil), won 100% share on a new customer contract (Forasol).
„± Introduced a new technology that provided a comprehensive market intelligence including tracking market share, as well as the competitor's market share. As a result sales and marketing strategies when implemented to maintain a 40% share, despite two new competitors in the region.
„± Initiated/coordinated networking, community and PR programs including events with universities, government officials and major charitable organizations such as the Red Cross.
„± Also during this period, partnered with R&D, and coordinated 1-2 day learning conferences for clients to train on new products and capability features. Events ranged from 150-300 attendees, in locations across Venezuela, and included coordination of the corporation's renowned Golf Tournaments and other sporting events.
