YANSAB is one of the new project of SABIC group. It is located in Yanbu, KSA. This petrochemical complex includes various units like Ethylene, Ethyl glycol, Poly propylene, HDPE and LLDPE. Technology is from Technip Italy
Ethylene Plant (Gas cracker)
Designation: Production operator
Period: June 10, 2007 to July2008 (13 Months)
Area of operation: Ethylene plant (Gas cracker)
The design capacity of the plant is 1300 KTA ethylene and 400 KTA propylene. Along with this it produces C6-C8 cut for BTX unit. The main raw materials are ethane and propane. Main process includes cracking of ethane-propane and separation of the components by distillation. Main equipments are furnaces, compressors, hydrogenation reactors, distillation columns, dryers, MAPD reactors, propylene & ethylene compressors, turbo expander, PSA unit, cryogenic distillation, cold box. Compressors are very high pressure steam turbine driven, extraction cum condensing type.

Process involves Naphtha cracking, Quenching, 3 Phase separation, Multistage Gas Compression, Acid Gas Removal, Gas Dehydration, Gas chilling & Liquefaction by using Propylene & Ethylene Refrigeration, and Cryogenic Distillation for the separation of methane, Ethane, Hydrogen, Ethylene, Propylene, mix C4 and pyrolysis Gasoline.

Duties and responsibilities
ľ Handled major equipments like multi stage centrifugal compressors (extraction cum condensing type) driven by steam turbine, refrigerant compressors (propylene & ethylene), Catalytic Hydrogenation Reactors, fractionating-distillation columns like Demethanizer,Deethanizer,Debutanizer,Depropenizer Ethylene Fractionator, Propylene fractionator, strippers, pumps, reboilers, gas dehydrators, high pressure steam drums, steam super heaters, catalytic reactors, expander compressors, 3 phase separators in a safe manner.
ľ Familiar with DCS operation
ƒæ safe and efficient operations in Gas Separation / Gas Production section-CRYOGENIC/ COLD SECTION (+15¢X C to -162¢X C ) separating methane, Ethane, Hydrogen, Ethylene, Propylene, mix C4 and pyrolysis Gasolene, also, Catalytic Hydrogenator Reactors, Methanator, in Ethylene plant, monitoring process parameters and logging Process involves Naphtha cracking, Quenching, 3 Phase separation Multistage Gas Compression, Acid Gas Removal, Gas Dehydration, Gas chilling & Liquefaction by using Propylene & Ethylene Refrigeration, and Cryogenic Distillation
ľ Well conversant with precommissioing, commissioning and startup of new project/plant
ľ Responsible for start up and shutdown and emergency operation. Actively participated in annual shutdown activities. Preparation of blind lists and other activities of decontamination for hand over of equipments safely to mechanical department.
ľ Well conversant with P&ID and PFD. Also participating P&ID reviews and preparation of SOP.
ľ To carry out routine checks of plant operating conditions in accordance with set schedules. Includes taking samples, recording readings, checking running condition of equipment, etc. and monitoring plant operations on site. Includes adjusting local set points and gauges to accommodate fluctuations in operations, reports major abnormalities to Supervisor as require
ľ Opens and shuts various valves manually. Starts and stops pumps and rotating equipment in accordance with set procedures and Supervisor's instructions
ľ Responsible for the support of Company Safety, environment and Quality policies and programs, and carrying out specific duties and responsibilities related to job as spelled out in Management system documentation, policies, procedures, local documentation, Management System Manual, Safety Manual and other related documents
ľ Shift takeover and hand over, maintaining log, sample collection and maintain the process parameters.
ľ Well aware about work permit system and follow that during the job.
ľ Handling of various types of fire fighting equipments such as DCP, fire hydrants, fire monitors, fire hoses, fire sprinkler system..
ľ Assisting in case of fire fighting requirements and various emergencies
ľ Active participation in daily process/production meetings
