Worked on Ensco 101 as Night supervisor. Supervised and supported Day Supervisor during drilling extended reach well from platform situated in high profile area close to the coast. Very high ratio well profile (in the region of 4.5:1) required specialised casing and geo-steering techniques. This well was recognised by all involved as very successful in all aspects. Completed an appraisal well in block 42 for Centrica through potentially difficult southern North Sea lithologies. Completed an exploration well in Southern North Sea close to Flamborough head (Prmetheus). Performed most of the drilling engineering activity on the rig during these wells.

Water depths varied between 700 and 1700m.

Worked as Night Supervisor / Drilling Engineer on development wells in Wanaea / Cossack / Lambert field, in water depths of between 450 and 650m. (Subsea completions). Provided technical and operations support to Day Shift Drilling Supervisor while drilling and testing wells. Mentored Woodside Junior Engineers. Supervised Wellservices and contractors during Subsea completion and testing operations. Horizontal wells and completions for gas (sweet and sour) and oil wells. Workovers. Was responsible for well site training and supervision of newly hired Shell, NAM and Deutag drilling engineers on a regular one to one basis. Worked on the PT 52 and PT 46. Both rigs used to test new technologies for NAM – both surface and subsurface equipment. e.g. Thule shaker load control systems. First successful run of Petroline Expandable sand screens in 5 7/8" reservoir section. First successful run of Shoe track conveyed logging tools run on a 9 5/8" casing string. Monitored new bit technology. Reviewed drilling and completion programmes initiated from the NAM / Prostar office. Carried out reports writing and presentations for post well analysis.

Liaised with office-based personnel in operations, reservoir engineers, exploration-lists and well technologists to fulfil drilling and production expectations. Project work in the Aberdeen office as required on training and high pressure casing design programming tools.
