OBJECTIVE:

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY:

A) Working as a Shift Chemist in M/s. Sohar Power and Operation Company, [Subsidiary of Sogex Oman Company] from March 2007 to June 2009.

SOMC is operating Sohar Power Company, a combined cycle Power and Desalination plant located in Sohar, Sultanate of Oman. The Power plant Erection and Commissioned by DOOSAN Heavy Industries, has a capacity of 585 MW export and the Water plant has a net water capacity of 33 MIGD.

The Plant comprises of the following equipments;

* 3 x 138 MW Gas Turbines, model V94.2 Siemens make with two silo type combustion chambers having hybrid burners.
* 3 x 310 T/H, 84 bar HP Steam and 3 x 86 T/H, 2.2 bar LP Steam Heat Recovery Steam
Generator [HRSG] units with duct burners.
* 1 x 220 MW Alstom make condensing type Steam Turbine with adaptive stage, single extraction of 1.8 bar.
* 4 x 8.25 MIGD cross tube Multi Stage Flash (MSF) Evaporators, for desalination of Sea
Water.
* 33 MIGD Potable Water plant.
* 110 m3 / hr DM plant.

Job Responsibilities:

* Initiate the standard routines required to ensure all chemical parameters are maintained within specified limits.

* Ensure that the Power Plant, Desalination plant and Potable water plants chemical regime is being operated in an efficient manner.

* Assist in planning the annual consumption of chemicals and laboratory equipment, lubrication oils etc. and advise procurement in good time to ensure adequate stocks exist at all times.

* Assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), material safety data, Chemical handling procedures, water chemistry procedures, sampling and analysis procedures and environmental procedures.

* Guide operation staff on how to maintain proper chemical regime and to operate various plants as per the supplier's guideline for maintaining the dosing and chemical levels.

* Manage sampling and analysis function and present results appropriately.

* Provide accurate and timely guidance and advice on matters affecting plant process and performance.

* Ensure environmental records are maintained up to date. Calibration of all laboratory equipments.

* DM plant operation.

B) Worked as a Chemist from Nov 2002 to Mar 2007.
