Shoaibah IWPP Project is the first Independent Water & Power Project in Saudi Arabia, is intended to generate about 1200 MW electricity and 194 MIGD drinking water (3 X 560.5 Kg/s Ansaldo Caldaie boilers and 3X 400MW Siemens power Units Back pressure steam Turbine & Doosan's desalination plant.) The power plant combines 3 power units each power unit is made up of a crude oil fired drum type boiler. The water plant combines 12 MSF Units 3 dump condenser, the seawater supply, the potablization facilities, the potable water storage tanks outlet channel, Electrochlorination plant, Demin Water Plant – 125 Cu.mt/hr X 3 Units(Mixed Bed Type Resin). R.O. Plant Production capacity 150,000 M3/day..
Responsible in dealing all activities in correlation with chemical aspects, operations, documentations and maintaining the laboratory on effective and high caliber performance out put. Include Analysis of Physical & Chemical parameters of Steam, Feed, Boiler, Process, Treated & distributed Water of MSF Distillation, & Remineralization Plant. Fuel Analysis of Lube oil, Transformer oil & Crude oil. Analysis of Electrochlorination plant Sodium hypochlorite, Acid cleaning samples, Familiar with the operation of DM Plant & Acid Regeneration, Closed Cooling Water System, Auxillary Cooling Water System, Monitoring of Flue Gas Desulpharization System (FGD) Enviro Monitor & Control System, Waste water treatment Plant. Laboratory chemical preparation & Standardization, Maintain Chemical Stock Log book as per ISO 9001 rules, Unloading of chemicals, Preparation of MSF Plant & Boiler Plant Chemicals, Inventory of Laboratory Chemicals, Instruments, Glasswares & Assets, etc.
* Monitoring the water analysis both boiler water treatment & desalination process water and make sure that the distribution water is as per defined limit.
* To coordinate with Operation Section with in time reports in order to optimize the dosing of chemicals
* Ensure & observe safety measure in workplace.
* All Lab reports are informed to shift charge engineer at time to time.
* Advised to Lab technicians in the laboratories each and every thing shall be marked so as to indicate their identity. Hazardous chemicals shall in addition be labeled in a way of easily understandable.
* Provide first aid.
* Air Monitoring Data sheet collection and reporting to Environmental specialist.
* Analysis includes: pH, Conductivity, TDS, TSS MLSS, MLVSS, Turbidity, Iron, Silica, Copper, Sulphate, Sulphide, Nitrate, Alkalinity, Ammonical Nitrogen, Oil & Grease, DO, BOD, COD, TOC, FRC, TRC, etc.
* Monitoring the FGD water analysis and make sure that the distribution effluent water is as per defined limit before discharge in sea because of no harm to sea livingthings & organisms to save green environmental.
* Laboratory technicians and their sample collector in the undertaking to given relevant training in The term work with use of any chemicals which may expose to worker the production of chemical, handling of chemicals, storage of chemicals, transportation of chemical, disposal of waste chemicals occupational health and safety& Enviro control system in the Plant.
* Familiar with operation of demineralised water (DM ) Water Plant.
* DM plant total capacity 9000 Cu.Mt / day. Operating system by Touch Screen
* DM Plant Acid regeneration, Quality Control Management, Trouble shooting & Maintain good housekeeping, etc.
* Routine analysis of DM Water samples such as pH, Conductivity, etc.
* Unloading of chemicals Hcl & NaoH.
* Chemical Stock consumption & Chemical Budget preparation.
