Project:

Title: Geomorphological and geological studies in Alluvial Diamond Exploration in Parts of Krishna River A Remote Sensing Approaches

Field Exposure:

Geophysical Field Training was conducted to get acquainted and trained in handling of instruments, data acquisition, data processing and interpretation using GEOSOFT software. The field-training program was planned in 4 phases and started from 04th December 2006 and concluded on 25th January 2007.
1st phase of training was given by NGRI Scientists on Resistivity sounding and profiling at Thangadpalli, Nalgonda district, Andhra Pradesh and also at NGRI during the period from 04 to 08th December 2006.
2nd phase of training from 12th December to 17th December 2006, included visit to Narnaul helipad to get exposure about the various instruments used in AGRS, Airborne Magnetic & EM data collection and that followed by lectures comprising topics of Gamma Ray Spectrometry, Digital Image Processing, Airborne Magnetic & EM by AMD scientists.
3rd phase included ground geophysical instrument handling and data collection at Rohil- Khandela-Ghateswar area, Sikar District, Rajasthan. IP, MAGNETIC & EM-TURAM surveys were carried out during the period from 18th December to 30th December 2006.
4th phase included IP, MAGNETIC; TEM & GRAVITY Surveys in Jhirpa-Bandi area of Chindwara District, M.P. This was held during 1st January to 25th January 2007.
Followed by field training, data processing and interpretation were carried out in various phases at AMD, Hyderabad using GEOSOFT software. Base maps, images and contour maps were prepared and interpreted for different study areas.
