QUALIFICATIONS
After completion of my Diploma in Chemical Engineering from Government Polytechnic College, Kanpur in 1991, I joined Shri Ram Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd, Kota, Rajasthan in Jan 1992. I served the post of Supervisor in the Ammonia plant of the company for a period of 6 years till Dec 1997. Thereafter I joined the then upcoming grassroots refinery at Panipat, Haryana of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd in Dec 1997 where I am serving till date. Both my assignments have been quite challenging which included the normal operation of the ammonia plant at the fertilizer complex and all the project related commissioning activities as well as the normal operation of the offsite area and the RFCCU and Merox units at Panipat Refinery. The combined experience has given me intensive knowledge of field activities, the criticality of RFCCU in the refinery sector, its technical details, supervisory abilities, teamwork and exposure to computer and DCS control systems

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
1. Field Operator at Panipat Refinery of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd since Dec'97.

- Job involved include full participation in the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of the offsite tankages and pumphouse areas of the refinery followed by those of Resid Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit, the first of its kind in the country and Merox unit which includes LPG, Gasoline and Kerosene treatment units.. These included jobs like piping, vessels and column internals checking, field activities such as checklisting, flushing, pressure testing, instrumentation interlock checking, commissioning of equipments which include blowers, compressors, pumps, (both centrifugal as well as reciprocating), boilers, catalyst handling systems, etc and final feed cut in of the unit followed by trouble shooting and stabilization.

- The RFCCU designed by SWEC, USA has a capacity to process 0.7MMTPA of feed with a maximum of 15% VR. It is a double stage regeneration unit which is the first to be commissioned in India. The unit also includes a CO incinerator and a Waste Heat Boiler for generation of High Pressure steam of the order of 40 MT per hour at 40 ATA pressure.

- The Merox unit has the facility for treatment of LPG, Gasoline and Kerosene product streams from RFCCU and other units of the refinery to meet the stringent product specifications.

- A downstream Propylene Separation Unit was also commissioned after stabilization of RFCCU operations.

- At present involved in the normal shift operation of all these units, handling emergencies, co-ordination with other service departments for sustaining excellent operation of the units.

2. Foreman-A in Ammonia plant of Shri Ram Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd, Kota, Rajasthan from Jan'92 to Dec'97.

- Job included supervision of the normal operation at the Ammonia plant of the fertilizer complex.

- The plant comprised of the Naphtha Hydro-desulfurization section, the Naphtha reforming section, the Gas purification section (absorption, adsorption and regeneration), refrigeration and synthesis section of ammonia and a recovery section ( methane and hydrogen from ammonia purge gas).

- The major equipment, among others, included a reciprocating motor driven compressor for Carbon Dioxide gas and Synthesis gas.
