WORKING EXPERIENCE
Sep 2003 - I have been at home working as a security and safety consultant providing burglar-alarm and fire-alarm solutions for companies and homeowners as well as helping companies with fire-prevention documentation needed according to new Swedish legislature.

Feb 2003 – Sep 2003 I took a temporary job as a supervisor for Byggs, supervising grouting and shotcreating operations, leading one shift of pre-grouting and shotcreating operations for the permanent rock-support of a railroad tunnel during the star-up stage of the project.

Feb 2000 – Feb 2003 I was working as a supervisor for BESAB on road-tunnels in Stockholm leading one shift of pre-grouting and shotcreating operations for the permanent rock-support of the tunnel system.
We also did grouting operations using chemical grouting agents in areas with heavy leakage.
After the permanent rock-support was finished we also were contracted to cover areas with persisting water-leakage with foam-rubber drainage-mats that were then shot-created over.
On this project I was to great deal responsible for the administration of subcontractors and I also introduced a system for keeping track of all extra work ordered by the main contractors supervisors to our personnel in the tunnels thereby ensuring that we received payment for the extra work being carried out.
I also took on the task of ensuring that all our progress reports were checked and properly logged in our computer-system presenting accurate reports to the main contractor, Skanska co.
I was also responsible for ordering and purchasing materials as well as keeping records of the materials consumed and taking inventory.

Feb 1999 –Feb 2000 I spent at home working on my house and spending time with my family.

Oct. 1997- Feb.1999 I worked a tunnelling supervisor for Skanska Co. In Zimbabwe.
We were making a 4.2 km. tunnel for water-supply to the third largest city in Zimbabwe. We used a high-speed tunnelling method using rail-born equipment such as a Atlas Copco boomer drill-rig and the Häggloader loader and shuttle-cars from Rockmachines and locomotives from GIA of Sweden. My main job was as tunnelling supervisor. I also did follow-ups concerning statistics, project planning and progress. On many occasions I also worked as tunnelling superintendent/production-manager taking care of the entire site. I supervised the drilling and charging, the mucking-operation and the laying of rail, surveying and planning. The rock-support consisted of spiling and rock-bolts, shotcreating and grouting. We worked in two shifts continous around the clock averaging about 3,5 complete round per day with an advance of about 3,6-3,7 meters per round.
On this project I improved the blasting procedure and also improved the servicing of the rails and other service-works in the tunnel as well as training local workforce.

July 1994 – Oct 1997
I was hired as a blasting engineer at Saudi Chemical Co. in Saudi Arabia. I worked at, what was at the time, the worlds largest underground projects in Madinah, Jeddah, Abha, Bureida.
The projects very large underground oil-storage caverns for the SSSP ( Saudi Strategic Storage Programme). The main contractor was ABV Rock Group and we worked as subcontractors taking care of all the blasting being carried out on the different sites. I supplied blasting patterns, blasters, supervision and security. I was also in charge of closing adjoining areas in order to provide safe blasting conditions as well as being in charge of the explosives stores. On the Bureidah site I was promoted to blasting/project manager. I was also in charge of drilling and blasting operations for an extension of the highway in Riyadh. The job consisted of bench-blasting a cut through the rock to accommodate the highway. On that site we were also responsible for the drilling. I then moved to Al Khobar and became blasting manager for a pipe-line project from Al Khobar to Riyadh. The total length of blasting was just over 190 kilometres which was blasted at a rate of 1 to 2 kilometres per day in one blast. The trench we were blasting was only 7 to 12 metres away from an existing pipe-line so we had strict vibration levels that we had to follow, so the task also included setting out vibration-monitors and follow up on the readings taken and presenting them to the client. The work was done for ARAMCO and the main contractor was SAIPEM Co. of Italy. The project was finished ahead of schedule and at a lower cost than budgeted.
I also led the construction of the storage area for the explosives, getting them approved by the local police, organising the explosives and the records necessary to comply with Saudi legislature.
I was responsible for hiring a storekeeper, all dealings with the explosives police and all other matters enabling us to carry out the daily blasting operations
I also spent one week in Yemen, on behalf of the sales division, where I looked at some various projects, highways and military installations, and made suggestions for different improvements and recommendations regarding blasting material. Upon return to Saudi I wrote reports regarding the different companies I had visited and my projections for potential business with them.

Sept. 1989-July 1994 I worked as a miner for Boliden Mineral in Garpenberg, Sweden. Among other things the job consisted in drilling, blasting, mucking out, rock-bolting, and general mining chores.

2003 I took another course in blasting technique at Dyno Nobel
