CURRENT JOB SKILLS:
Monitor, control and manage natural gas and liquid pipeline system pressures, volumes, quality, integrity, flow, and nominations/receipts/deliveries utilizing a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system; maintain operating parameters within safety, regulatory, contractual and commercial requirements and troubleshoot upset conditions.
Essential Position Functions: Receive, review, input and implement gas and liquid receipt and delivery nominations in accordance with applicable operating parameters; monitor nomination imbalances. Monitor system imbalances and assist operations and measurement personnel in addressing imbalance issues. Coordinate gas and liquid control activities with operations personnel and work with same on problem resolution and other activities that affect pipeline operations;
interface with operations personnel, customers and suppliers on gas and liquid pipeline systems such that close communication and good relationships are maintained; assist customers and suppliers with their requests for information and changes in deliveries to or receipts from facilities; coordinate with internal and external customers on any changes in operational, supply or delivery conditions; develop, update and submit reports as requested by internal and external customers. - Work closely with internal information systems and measurement groups on related modifications and problem issues.
Identify data communication problems and coordinate resolution with communications companies and operations personnel. Also Train new employees in the operations of SCADA.
Monitor emergency phone line and coordinate follow-up activity with operations personnel; handle incident regulatory reporting as needed. Maintain, update and distribute help screens, key contact lists, etc.; review operating manuals and emergency plans and provide input; maintain availability of pertinent manuals and system drawings; file pertinent documentation.
Selection Criteria/Skills and Experience: Math Proficiency: Ability to calculate batch time and required flow rates to meet targets.
Analytical: Adept at troubleshooting problems and making decisions on solutions.
Communication: Communicates in a clear, concise, understandable manner both orally and in writing. Multitasking: Able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, organize/schedule work under demanding time pressures, and establish appropriate priorities to meet deadlines.
Computer operations: Proficient in the use of various MS Office PC applications
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), SCADA applications and the Internet.
