Qualifications:

* I work well in a team setting. This ability has been an integral part of my work over the years, as I am often part of a multi-disciplined work group. In my experience the ability to switch roles and provide leadership and assistance to other trade disciplines is essential for continued success in today's competitive economic environment.

* I am a problem solver. Trouble-shooting is an important part of instrumentation and is a discipline I enjoy. Finding solutions to problems provides us with the opportunity to learn. My experience at Shell Canada Limited, as a field maintenance / operator, I was provided with a unique opportunity to bring this skill to a higher level, as my position included not only instrumentation but also production operations as well. This gave me valuable process experience that compliments my instrumentation background.

* I have experience in the areas of mechanical, Electro-mechanical and pneumatic instrumentation and electronic control systems. With experience in management, estimating and project coordination. These skills proved valuable while working in Russia, as I was the only instrumentation support on site. Working through an interpreter with a team of Russian laborers the project was a complete success.

Work History:

2007-Present: Lead Instrumentation Technician, DeBeers Canada Inc.
As the instrument lead of the Surface and Underground maintenance team I face many challenges. This is a new facility and I am providing commissioning as well as field engineering support. I am also responsible for the creation and implementation of the Preventative Maintenance program and building a spare parts inventory. While providing operational and maintenance support to the working areas of the mine and process facility. All while being in a very remote area in Canada's far north.

2006-2007: Instrumentation Supervisor / Trainer, Sherritt Power Ltd.
Working overseas at a cogeneration facility I was charged with many responsibilities. I was responsible for ensuring operational support and plant reliability, at the same time I was responsible for training local technicians and setting up a comprehensive maintenance program. My duties also included working with engineers to design and implement facility upgrades as well as taking part in the construction, commissioning and maintenance of several frame 5 and 6 series GE gas fired turbines within the plant.

2005-2008: Part time Firefighter, Strathcona County Emergency Services.
As a part time firefighter I am responsible for first response to a variety of emergency calls, from residential and wild land fires to vehicle accidents and missing person searches. I am in the process of getting my NFPA 1001 certification and my First Responder medical training.

2002-2006: Instrumentation Maintenance Advanced Technician, Imperial Oil Canada Ltd.
Working at the Strathcona Refinery providing maintenance and operational support primarily but not limited to the Utility Plant. Through my efforts and the efforts of the plant maintenance team the refinery has been able to run well beyond its original design capacity safely and consistently. This position has provided me the opportunity to design and upgrade facilities with great success.

2001-2002: Journeyman Instrument Mechanic, Flint Field Services Ltd.
Flint has provided me with the opportunity to perform varied tasks such as building skid packages and compressor upgrades to working with the maintenance team in the I/A shop at Imperial Oil Strathcona. All of these tasks have been completed with a great deal of success.

1998-2001: Maintenance Associate, Shell Canada Limited. Caroline gas plant.
My responsibilities included maintenance of the process control instrumentation and the day to day operations in the Caroline gas gathering system. Through the efforts of the field team the Caroline facility has been able to run at 124% of design capacity consistently and safely.

1997-1998: Journeyman Instrument Mechanic, Titan Electric & Controls Ltd.
I had a broad range of responsibilities ranging from, new construction and commissioning to process control maintenance in both gas plant and refinery environments. This position provided PLC and analyzer experience and involved work with both electronic and pneumatic controls systems. Through my efforts every project that I was involved in ended in success.

1996-1997: Journeyman Instrument Mechanic, Flint Canada Ltd.
The primary role of this position involved new construction with some maintenance work. Working in remote areas such as Russia where I was the primary instrumentation support for the construction of a gas and oil production facility. This role involved all aspects of construction including working directly with the engineers in Calgary via telephone for process control changes and upgrades. As a result of my efforts the project was completed on time and on budget, due to the remote location of the site this was no easy task.
